Activating AP in person on blackout date?

Is it possible to activate our Annual Passports at Disneyland on Saturday, Nov. 24? It's a blackout date and we're not trying to get into the park, just get them ready for use (photo taken, etc.) for the next day (Sunday, which isn't a blackout date).

I'm assuming the only way this is possible is to have the pic done at a booth outside of the gates.

Anyone have any experience with this? Thank you!

Actually, you can enter the park on a block out day if you activate your pass on that day. A little known perk, but you can do it.

The photo pass photographers take the pass pictures now, so you would have to enter the park to get a picture.

I believe they are vouchers - we purchased online, were sent an email with attachment - printed out, they have the AP #, each person's name, the Disneyland logo, and pics of The Incredibles on them.

Yep, those sound like vouchers. Normally you can take those right to the turnstiles and get a temporary ticket. Then you can visit the ticket booths anytime that same day to get your permanent AP. Then at some point you take a picture in the parks with the PhotoPass CMs.

Does anyone know if you can still do this if you are activating on an AP block out day? I am not sure. It may be safer to go directly to the ticket booths. Hopefully, someone will be along shortly with the answer. Have fun!

I'm 99.9% certain you can still buy/activate/upgrade to an AP on a blockout day.

But I'm even more certain that you have to go straight to the ticket booth to do the process now. I *think* I upgraded from a ticket, but DS and DH had vouchers from buying the APs on disneyland.com, and we all had to go to the ticket booth. They do the process and print out the APs, and then we needed to get pictures taken inside a park by a Photopass photographer.

I know that you can activate and enter on a block out day. I have no idea where you go to do it. ROFL! Hope that, ummm, helps.

It does help, thanks! We'll just go to one of the booths right outside the park first, then head in and get our pics done. Thanks all!

I would go to the booth too. We did that a few weeks back when we activated our passes. It didn't take too long. I have heard some people were turned away with their vouchers at the turnstiles and told to go to the ticket booths. Better off to just start there.

In July we activated our APs on a Saturday night, that was a black out day for DD16 as she has a Deluxe AP, we were able to enter the parks that night so we did, and went straight over to CarsLand. :) We activated them at the ticket booth. We didn't need photos because our previous APs expired in April and we got new ones in July so they had out photos on file.

I don't suppose you know how long they keep those photos available? We used our old AP's in March and they expired later that month. We won't be going back until December 22nd and are going directly to the booth to by the AP's that allow Disneyland and Disney World trips (Premier maybe).

If they don't keep our pictures that long, do we just go to any Photopass person and show our AP? How does that work?
