A thread about the evil, spotty ailment that nearly everyone gets smacked with eventually, unless you're extremely lucky or have magic lotion or something. It's been driving me crazy lately; it's all over my forehead and ears, all up my forehead, and just lying down hurts sometimes because of it. >(

Okay, maybe I shouldn't wear a hat all the time, but even when I don't it still crops up all the time.

So. What are your thoughts on the stuff? Do you get it, and how badly? Where's the worst place to get it? And how do you manage to get rid of it? Discuss.

And for the record, this thread was inspired by Invader Zim. :D

I'm sorry Ampris. :[

I get it worst when I'm on my period. Around my T Zone. And sort of like on my temple. It's not really full fledged pimples, just black heads. I think.

I hate hate hate hate it. And I sometimes have a few when I'm not on my period also.

I use ProActiv, which used to work, but is now not seeming to make a change in my face. I just can't see how it's working, although my mother says it does.

I used to have really bad acne, but I went to a dermatologist and now I am on like 3 medications. I take an antibiotic, birth control, and I have a face cream. and now I have like nothing.

i have it. and HATE it.
i go to a dermatologist (just got a new one two weeks ago) and i'm starting to see a small improvement.
i use medicated body wash, a face cream for night and a different one for the morning, and an oral medicine.
and my mom is looking into starting me on birth control, which is supposed to help.
ampris, if you're in physical pain because of it, you should see a dermatologist.

I have it...badly.
Some days it's not really bad, but other days its horrible
I get it mostly on my forehead, and chin.
I use some stuff I got from walmart. My mom said it looks lots better after using it. So...yay.
I hate it... :[

I'm asking my mother tomorrow to go to the dermatologist. I went once for it, and he gave me the gel that dried out my face and didn't help one bit. Differin. So I never went back, he also gave me an oral medication that only made my skin 10x more sensitve to the sun, and I got a sunburn almost everyday.

yeah, all the medicines i'm taking make me super sensitive to the sun.
and my job?
well, it consists of me sitting at a pool all day.
so i have to use a TON of sunscreen.
i used differin, but it didn't dry me out.
only trouble was, it didn't clear up my skin, either.

That oral medicine, maybe all of my skin sun sensitive, but sensitive to touch. It was awful. The lightest poke would hurt so bad.

My doctor perscribed this stuff called Benzaclin for me. It was a miracle worker. I used to only break out on my forehead (and even not badly it was barely noticable) but now I rarely break out. Although, my forehead is broken out at the moment because my mom lost our Faces oil free suntan lotion and forced me to use the regular stuff and it caused me to break out THEN on top of that I went on vacation and left my benzaclin at home...so that didnt help. But yeah, benzaclin definitely worked for me.

aww, jenny. that stinks.
my dermatologist says i have "tough skin"
not as in rough, but it doesn't dry out and isn't sensitive.
which is lucky because i have almsot no side effects with all my medicine,
but that also makes acne harder to get rid of :P

ohh I'm sorry.
that must be a pain in the neck like you wouldn't believe.
my friends say I hit the genetic lottery because I don't have acne.
neither of my parents did,and I don't either.
but,I do get the occasional pimple every now and then.
it sucks.

I use this gel called Clindoxyl Gel. You wash your face, and put this on (before you go to bed). It doesn't work near as much as it used to, but acne was BAD.
I'm on the BC Diane 35, which doubles as BC and an acne treatment, and I can't tell yet whether it makes a difference or not.

It it gets really bad, go to the derm (if you haven't already) and they put you on a medication like Actuane. My brother took it, and it worked (however you do have to watch what you eat while you're on it)

I'll ask for that.

I tried that too, and it didn't work at all for me! It made my face really oily from the lotion.

My doctor prescribed BenzaClin for me, and that works amazing. I still get small bumps every now and then, but overall, it's a miracle worker for me. Talk to your doctor or dermatologist and they'll be able to help you. Especially if it hurts to even lay down.

It isn't really bad on my face but I get it on the top of my back:crazy2: . I lift with my football team and that is when it gets really bad. It gets really annoying.

It really does work! I'm so happy! And if you get a pimple, just put some extra medicine on it, and by the next day it's significantly smaller! It's amazing! :upsidedow

I don't get acne.
Very rarely pimples.

I'm lucky :)

I use AcneFree Terminator. It works well when I remember to use it. lol. If I have a big zit that appeared overnight, I put some on it then by the afternoon, its smaller and its less red. :upsidedow I buy it at WalMart and its not that expensive. I think less than $5. :)
