I am all ready to get my RSP results tomorrow. I gave them my VISA card number and figured they would just charge it!
But as usual something hit the fan. I got a call today from my VISA. Apparently someone did exactly what Ed said they would. Tiny little charges of $20 and less. But they all added up to a big charge.
Visa questioned me because they noticed that the only two states I use my VISA are FL and CT. (mostly FL they said) These charges were made in Alabama. I did get my tattoo in AL last summer but didn't use my charge card.
So they are not going to accept any more charges on my VISA and will be sending me a form to fill out. They also will be sending me a new VISA.
I have an American Express card that I got for my son when he was at college but the spending limit is $500. If I get everything I asked for it will be approx $650. So, what should I do?

Sorry I can't help with your problem but I wanted to ask about the multiple small charges on your Visa. Can you tell me a bit about it and if it's something related to online purchases? I'm still a bit concerned about buying over the Internet unless it is a very reliable source, i.e. the Disney Store. Thanks

Peggie,

Call Event Svcs tomorrow and tell them what happened. You may have your new Visa in time for them to charge it, and I think they will understand.

Or, can you charge on the AE, and then send a check for the balance? They do accept checks.

I hope you get everything straightened out...

I use my credit cards for a TON of things online
and I'm hoping to never have to go thru this...

However... I have also learned to take your
paid bills (outgoing checks to creditors) to
a post office drop box... there was a huge
check washing scheme going on here in Arizona
about a year ago... my mom had her outgoing
mail stolen and they then had both her checking
account number AND her credit card numbers...
she had to cancel everything and start over...
luckily she noticed her mailbox was open and
empty... they said this is a very popular way
of getting numbers... rather than spending the
time cracking codes to get your stuff on the
internet... this is much easier and faster
and they know you won't get a new statement
for a while, since they know you are paying
a bill then...

Call and send them a check. I do it almost every time, never had a problem.

This way DH does not see CC charges.

Sorry, I don't have anything to add.
I just have been wanting to tell LisaZoe how adorable her little princess photo is. Love it!! :sunny: princess:

Call Event Services and explain what happened. They can switch you to "check payment". Then, when you get your new card you can give them that number and they can charge the card.

Peggie send a check its cool, and it is one of the options on the RSP.

LisaZoe I wrote a thread awhile back about Visa admitting that 1000's of credit card numbers where accidentally let out, and a lot of oversea folks have been charging little amounts like $25 or as little as $2.50 figuring you would never notice and let the charges pass through. This is why you need to take a look at your statement every single month, and verify it.

Also here is a trick kids I got a visa card with a very low limit $500.00 and I use that card for all my online buying. I also got several cards and assign then to different vendors for example I have a Visa card, that I only use for Disney events, or Disney auctions. That way it’s easy for me to verify the statement. If I see anything beside a Disney Event I can shut it down. Plus if they let you, you can set the card up to only allow Disney event services to go through.

Good luck Peggie hope all goes well.

Thanks Raulandpinboy. My Disney Visa also has a low limit so I watch it very closely online to make sure I don't go over the limit. I will definitely be on the lookout for any fraudulent charges.

My other Visa isn't being used now because I'm trying to rack up Disney reward dollars. It will be very easy to see any fraudulent use of that one as those would be the only charges on it :)

Thanks also, Luv2Roam.

Just to let everyone know,

"Due to the impending hurricaine, Event Services is closed at this time. We hope you understand. Please leave a number and a detailed message and we will return your call as soon as possible. Please understand that it might not be until Monday."

So either they are not running the RSP's or they have run them and are piling up all the pins to make a flood block.
Hope everyone in the storm track is safe. Peggie
