I bought four plane tickets from SW on February 6, and it came out as four separate transactions at $44.30 each.

I got on my bank's website today and see that on February 17, they took three of those $44.30 transactions and put them BACK INTO my account!

Called SW and they said they're still showing a reservation for four and no problem with the transaction. Called the bank and they don't have any idea.

Has this happened to any of you?

I'd check with SW again just to be certain that all the tickets are still showing a "paid." It may just be a glitch between the bank's web site and the database, but you never know.

It's never happened to me -- yet. If it did, I'd be checking and double-checking this with the airline.

If you make your reservation on line, always get a printout of it showing everything correct.

If you make your reservation using only the telephone, always ask for a written confirmation by mail.

OT: Not everybody checks their bank accounts every day. If you hadn't checked yours and hadn't been notified of any problems, it is therefore reasonable to expect that all four of you will be able to take that flight. If the airline did catch a problem it is reasonable that you can fix the problem and get back the flights at the same fare.

OT: It is technically possible at any airline to remake any reservation regardless of sold out conditions although not necessarily with assigned seats.

It is possible that the banks's computers kicked out three of the four transactions as erroneous duplicates. Most likely the airline will contact the bank before contacting you. Unless and until the airline contacts the bank, the bank will "have no idea" about the problem. This will certainly take time so you need to be prepared to insist that the airline remake the reservations if a problem does persist.
