Ack! Snow

Thanks for the positive feedback. DDs Drama teacher went there and he is really recommending VSU for her (she wants to be a fine arts major.) This is the second time we have tried to go down there and had to cancel. If it wasn't going to snow until later tonight I wouldn't have felt uneasy about driving down there. But Atlanta is going crazy and I'd have to first drive through Atlanta in Friday rush hour traffic and then drive another 4 hours on slick roads to get there. Oh, and my right foot in injured. I have to take my walking boot off to drive, but it might be iffy on such a long drive. I had planned to have DD16 do some of the driving, but I'm not confident in her abilities to drive in snow. She doesn't have that much experience to start with.

Still coming down out there. We have a good 1"+ in our yard. The road looks wet but not icy--yet. Tonight it's going down in the 20s and I wouldn't want to be out in it after dark.

I grew up in Atlanta from the time I was 9 until college, so I totally get the traffic. Could you leave early, early in the morning after they have a chance to salt the interstate and people are at home in bed?

Oh, and good luck to your DD! My dad was actually involved in the theater program when he was there in the late sixties.

I don't think so. The program starts at 10am. If our roads ice over (and you know it will!) I don't want to be out there at 5am driving in it. I think they have another go-see weekend coming up in March. Surely the weather will be better then (of course, we did have that blizzard in '93~~)

My husband is in Augusta, GA and said it's snowing like crazy there. I told him payback is a witch.;)
