ok Im taking the plunge over here on the singles side of the boards...Ive been a member for 5 yrs and I have made several friends from here...one very close friend which graces you with her presence on this board I understand :rolleye2...anyways to make a long story short I was supposed to be going to wdw at the end of the year and doing the cruise as well with my very dear friend but things happen as they always do and it looks like the trip is going to be shortened and I will be at wdw by myself for most of it with her coming in a couple of days beforehand and we still are doing the cruise so Im making alot of changes and truthfully I dont know what Im doing...what intinerary we had done and restaurant choices we made are now totally changed because its just me...I personally prefer TS over CS and I want to do some of the buffets like Park Fare and Ohana and I want to do dinner at LTT but Im a little concerned about doing these by myself...I dont want to be uncomfortable going there...Im saving Boma, Chef Mickey, and Whispering Canyon for when my friend gets there...also can anyone tell me when they normally start putting out deals for beginning of dec. for pkgs? any other helpful details of solo traveling would be appreciated..I have no idea where to start or what to ask:confused3

What concerns you about doing those places you listed by yourself? Why would you be uncomfortable solo?

I say eat where you want and don't worry. I've read that alot of places may even give you extra attention. I plan on carrying my hidden mickey book and look through it during my TS meals.

I don't know when the deals for December come out. The only advice I can give is to keep your eyes open for them all the time.

I've never done solo before to WDW and I'm giving it a try this year. I can't wait.

Just think - you get to go where you want, do what you want when you want and you can eat where you want. Now that's my idea of a great vacation! :thumbsup2

haha I know your right...Ive done solo to DL alot but I know every inch of that park and DCA but Ive never been to wdw and truthfully alot of questions that Ive asked on the resort, restaurant and theme park side of the board have either gone unanswered or its very vague..also I hate eating by myself...thats the only thing I dont like about being solo on a trip but I will suck it up Im sure..I dont want to miss out on something Ive been wanting to do my entire life just because I dont want to eat by myself and maybe I should take a book or magazine or something to keep me preoccupied...Im also hoping to meet some people who might be there at the same time I am who wants to meet up for a meal..who knows:confused3 :goodvibes

Oh, I feel your pain. I wish I had someone to eat with too! I am so scared. I hate eating alone. That is my feeling too. I am going alone to WDW for the first time. With the dining, plan. Sept 9th-16. I love to eat. So, I am thinking i will just deal with it.

No real advice to offer as I've only gone to WDW with family (dragging my husband there this year although he keeps telling me he's not coming and i can go on my own!)

However, I did go to Austria when I was 21 on my own - at least you speak the language, I knew no German so I couldn't even strike up a converstation with anyone around me! I'd recommend carrying a book or a notebook with you when you go to restraunts, just in case people watching gets a bit old, or you feel uncomfortable.

Good luck, and I'm sure you'll really enjoy it. :thumbsup2
