I will get a pic of Spinelli to post on my trip report :rotfl:. Kelly Monaco supposedly re-signed with GH, but I am not sure. We tivo Dancing w/the Stars so we can zip through the commercials. I think it is great that Bill likes it too. I guess this is his way of returning the favor when I watch baseball, football, etc with him all year long.

Sounds like fun! Not to much longer for you guys! So exciting!:cool1:

If it is half as much fun as it was last year we will have a blast!! We are getting excited here, I am going to start making my lists of things to pack and in what suitcase this weekend.

Here's lots of pixiedust so you get the Susan Lucci Breakfast tickets!! :thumbsup2

I'm sure you have all heard about the game 6 degrees of separation. The idea is that you can connect yourself to anyone in the world thur other people. Well I figured out that I can connect myself to mrsksomeday in 3 degrees (or is it 4?).
Here it goes:
One of my college roommates went to tennis camp with Susan Lucci's daughter (years ago) and Susan Lucci enjoys having breakfast with mrsksomeday.
I thought it was pretty cool. The next time I can't sleep I'm going to try to connect myself to Walt Disney.

I've been across town baby sitting for my niece and nephew the past couple of days and was very happy to find not one but two new installments waiting for me today. :cool1:

I'm so glad to hear things went well with the "future" in-laws!

Thanks also for the info on the SSW - as this will be our first time attending I've been stressing out over what to expect. One minute I'm excited and the next I'm terrified. They've started showing some scenes of last years event between the soaps this week. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I keep telling myself "take a deep breath and go with the flow!" I'm looking forward to seeing a few familiar "DIS" faces in the crowd.

I know the crowds can seem overwhelming, but you will do great!! Just make sure you get information schedules and things will be ok.

Only 29 Days for you!!! :cool1: :yay:  :dance3:

It is 28 days now :rotfl:. Don't worry, I won't post every day how many days we have before we go.

Thank you Kathy, it will be soon for the tickets. Our suitcases are sprawled out on the bed in the spare room just waiting to be packed :).

OMG, I can't believe it is only 4 weeks away. I can't wait:yay: .

MRYPPNS, Bill and I thought that was great!! It was so cute.

Now on to the next installment...

We are soooo happy that Michael E. Knight (Tad, AMC) will be at SSW. Bill wants to print the pic of him and Michael to see if we can possibly get him to sign it. Keep your fingers crossed for us. (Geez are we starting to sound like some of those crazy soap fans :rolleyes1???)

As most people planning to go to WDW, you want to get your ADR’s in order. I asked Bill where he wanted to eat on the trip. This question always cracks me up because you have to decide for a trip over 6 months away :rotfl: . Bill had a certain place that he definitely wanted to go to again: ‘Ohana’s. He LOVES this place. I have never seen him eat that much food. I have read that things have been hit and miss there since we were there last. I pray it is as good as he remembers.

We did have a Restaurant Marrakesh ADR, but after reading the menu again and Bill and I looking at pictures of the food we are not that adventurous. Bill said “I don’t want to go there and not like the food, then have to go somewhere else to eat”. I was secretly so thankful, the only reason I made that ADR was to get a picture of him with the Belly Dancer, I knew he would appreciate her talents:lmao: .

Here is the final or hopefully final itinerary and ADR list. I have it all organized in a spiral notebook of multicolored index cards. We have goals this year, not must do’s:

Thursday November 1 – Day before Travel Day:

- Make sure everything is packed and put in the van
- Gas up the van
- Place all the travel/itinerary papers in Bill’s back pack which is attached to his chair
- All we need to pack for Ace is his food and toys. Acey Von Spoiled sleeps with us,so his pet bed usually stays in the van
- Spend a sleepless night going over things in my head praying I have everything

Friday November 2 – Travel Day to St Louis:

- Wake up early because I have been tossing and turning all night
- Get us all up and around
- Drop off Ace at the boarding facility
- Drive to St. Louis
- Check into the hotel, ask to make sure they have an airport shuttle van with a
lift and tell them what time we will need it in the morning
- Have a nice relaxing dinner
- Go back to the room to obsess about our plans, while Bill watches TV:happytv:
- Do not touch the travel/itinerary papers so I don’t forget them this time
- Spend a sleepless night going over things in my head praying I have everything

Saturday November 3 - Arrival Day:

- Wake up ridiculously early, help Bill get ready, then get ready myself
- Check out of the hotel and take their shuttle to the airport
- Check in at the Southwest terminal. (We can’t do early check in, they have to tag his chair and we have to answer questions about it to make sure it doesn’t have acid in the batteries etc.)
- Watch Bill get felt up in the wheelchair by the TSA people, he might be smuggling something illegal you know :confused3 ??
- We are usually first on the plane because they have to take the wheelchair down to ground level to get it on the belt so they can put it in the plane. I watched them last time, it took 4 guys to lift it up there.
- Arrive safely at Orlando
- Check in at Magical Express
- Get to Pop Century
- Try to see if we can check in, if so GREAT we will go to the room, if not we will get our Keys to the World cards and explore the resort
- Grab a counter service meal at Pop food court
- After we get into the room and freshen up, catch a bus to DTD
- Go shopping!!! Bill wants a Pal Mickey  and has decided he wants a lanyard and some pins (Oh no  will a pin trading obsession develop?)
- Dinner at Capt’n Jacks at 8:05pm
- Maybe shop some more or go back to POP and go to bed

Next installment… The real itinerary begins, the DISNEY itinerary

Ah, the joy of the TSA and airport security with a disability! Because of his limited mobility, my BF has to wear the really thick soled shoes so he can scrape up the toes (he drags his feet). This, of course, is a joy trying to get through airport security. They think he must be carrying illegal liquids in those shoes.

First, the agent is very not nice when they see that my BF is still wearing his shoes by the time he reaches the x-ray machine. I guess we should just let him destroy his toes for the ease of the sockless approach. Then they ask him to remove the shoes, without providing a chair for him to sit on. Then they take away his crutches to put them through the x-ray machine, while expecting him to go through the metal detectors without them! When they figure out that he needs his crutches to get through the machine, there's a big discussion on if its possible and what's the best thing to do. Sometimes, the manager gets called over. Eventually they figure out to give him his crutches and let the machine go off wildly. So he gets through the metal detector and he has to struggle to get his shoes back on. Yeah, we're the people who take about 30 minutes to actually get through the metal detector!

Let me just say that the airport is definitely the worst part of the trip! But once we land in Orlando, its all good....just a few more weeks!

Bill has to go off to the side where they hand check him and wand him. Have you ever asked a to speak to a manager and see if your b/f could go through were the wheelchairs go through? There is no reason to have to put him through all that.

Great start to your itinerary. Your arrival day sounds like a long but fun day! :cool1: Can't wait to hear about Capt'n Jacks!

Samantha has wanted a Pal Mickey forever. I told her that I'll get her one on this trip. I've read some reviews on here and they seem to be pretty good - we'll see! :confused3

Capt'n Jacks is one I am still not sure about, part of me keeps wanting to see if I can change it to Raglan Road. Has anyone else eaten at Capt'n Jacks? Give me your opinions of it please.

If you get a Pal Mickey, let us know what you think about it. Bill has ideas for picture ops with Pal Mickey, LOL we will see.

Yeah, Baby!! :dogdance: Pins!!!

Kathy

Ok Kathy, I knew you would like this idea :rotfl:. I have a question, I found out that you can get personalized pins on disneyshopping.com? Have you ever done this? I am thinking about getting one for Bill and wanted to know if you had gotten one that way before? That way there is at least one pin he will keep. What pins are good ones to get to trade?

Both my BF and I have given up trying to speak with people before we get to security. It instantly "red flags" us. I think b/c he uses crutches, they think he can walk a little without them. He can walk if he holds onto something. Eventually, someone may try to be kind and wand him, but its never easy.

I have a question about pins! I've seen lots of people wearing the lanyards, but don't they get heavy? And are the backs so sturdy that they don't fall off? I've seen several pins and have CONSIDERED getting into them, but I'm afraid to lose them.

We've already committed to Pal Mickey this year. We decided not to get him last year, and have regretted it ever since. We're going to buy the wheelchair from Build a Bear and put him in it at home.

Yes, I've seen the personalized pins online, but, no, I've never bought any.

Some folks say they go on e-bay and pick up cheap pins in bulk for trading, but you have to be careful.... there are a lot of "knock-offs" floating around out there. I haven't tried this, either.

Bill can buy a lanyard just about anywhere on WDW property that has a collection of starter, or trading pins, usually in a theme.

For example: Tricia started with a Tinkerbell lanyard that had six pins; three pins in duplicate. The idea is that you keep the three and trade the other three. They are available with lots of different character themes. Billy started with The Incredibles, but he didn't like wearing the lanyard around his neck, so he gave three of the pins to his daddy and gave the other three to Tricia so she could trade them.

Oooh Boy!! I should warn you; it is addicting!! ;)

There are "locking" pin backs that are available for purchase. I recommend them, especially for your special pins. :thumbsup2
