:worried: How "accurate" has the extended forecast on accuweather proven to be? We leave on 4/27 and looks like rain for tues-thurs :worried::( Just yesterday it was showing bright sunshine for all days :confused3

Accuweather is a company based in my hometown and it's all we use for any weather information we need. In my experience, it's always been pretty darn accurate...as far as weather forecasts go. It does tend to change a lot though and it's hard to know too far ahead of time. Plus, their extended forecast covers like 15 days and that is very hard to predict! For example, my sister in law is getting married Saturday and Accuweather has changed the forecast several times in the last week. So I'm pretty sure it will change.

PS. We leave on 4/26...I'm hoping it changes too. Just the other day there was nothing but sun in the forecast.

At WDW now. Yesterday Accuweather showed mostly clear with a few clouds on a couple of days. The local news just said rain today. :scared1:

:earsboy: Bill

Just looked at a few other extended forecast sites and they are all different! Only consistency is the temps! Guess I will just have to wait until it gets closer!

It's not possible to predict weather at 15 days out in Central FL. Not with any accuracy, anyway. At best, it will be accurate a day or two out. Farther than that, it's meaningless.

Weather companies publish those long range forecasts because consumers demand them. Not because they're accurate. Watch the forecast...it will change, probably dramatically, every day between now and your trip.

Don't we all wish we could be wrong 50% of the time, get paid well for it, and be loved by most that invite us into their homes daily?

So true!! Sometime I think they look out their window in the morning just like we do!!

I worried & compared TWC to Accuweather every day starting like 10 days out for our spring break trip and they rarely ever matched and they changed a lot from day to day. It was very frustrating as I was trying to figure out if it was going to be "normal" cool spring temps or above normal and hot so I could pack. I think overall TWC was more accurate and it ended up being HOT the whole time we were there. I will probably still compare both before each trip but I think I have more faith in TWC.

I've found most of the weather sites to be pretty accurate for the immediate 24-28 hours. After that, too much can change (and always does). Wishing you GREAT weather for your trip!!

I'm arriving on 4/28 and didn't even think to check it. Temps are about what I expected - mid to high 80's. There's no way they can predict rain 2 weeks ahead.

Looks like that Accuweather forecast for next week changed already! It looks much better than it did when I checked it the other day. Hope we have beautiful weather!

yet now today, changed again! I give up! I'm in obsessing mode with it now, but why.....can't change it, regardless. Going to pack shorts, capris, bathing suits, and rain ponchos! I guess the only true guarantee is that it won't snow!

Wishing everyone a safe and fun trip!:)

My experience has been that in Central Florida, any forecast for rain/not rain is useless more than about 24-36 hours in advance.

Yes, a little rain won't hurt at all...and we are expecting a little snow here in Pennsylvania tomorrow so any nice warm Florida weather is very welcome in my life! Have a great trip!

Out of curiosity, I have several times made "flow charts" of the forecasts, starting 15 days out, from my vacation. I have found that up until a very few days, the forecast will continually change. In other words, 15 days out the forecast for, say, December first might be "sunny," 14 days out, "cloudy," 13 days out, "clouds and sun," 12 days out "rain," and so forth. It is only when the forecast is for 3 days out or so that I find it has any accuracy. And even then, I had a forecast once for "sunny, warm, in the high 80's" on a Sunday for Wednesday, and by Wednesday the actual weather was overcast and never hit 80.
