Accuweather driving me crazy!!

Everyday the forecast changes drastically for our trip next week. 1st it was nice and sunny the whole trip then rain a few days, now rain chance every day. Yikes! I'm not looking anymore - I'm just packing the ponchos and off we go for a Magical Trip. A little rain won't hurt us anyway!

Might I suggest......http://www.weatherunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=lake+buena+vista.......much more reliable. Either way, it is Florida, so the weather is always crazy. Just don't worry too much.

LOL, you sound like me! We're leaving next Wed and I've been checking every weather site constantly! I've got our ponchos packed though, and already told DDs if it rains, you're wearing them and walking thru the puddles to the next ride.

We're leaving in 3 days too! I just looked at the 10 day forecast on weather.com & it shows isolated or scattered t-storms everyday! I was just coming on the disboard to see if any floridans out there could give me more info on the weather. Are the tstorms just the usual short storm that I've seen in the summer months? We've gone in May or June and from my experience in florida, there usually is a tstorm in the afternoon. We went once in October and it didn't rain during the day at all. We're going to MNSSHP on Sunday and it looks like thats the only night during our stay w/no tstorms. Thanks for any info. Weather is so unpredictable!!! Have a great trip regardless & so will we.

We check in next Wednesday and it looks like the % of chance of rain is increasing . I was really hoping for good weather and no love bugs . A few showers are not a big deal but a totoal wash it would really stink.

Usually, the only prolonged rain in Central Florida comes with cold fronts and tropical systems. Otherwise it usually is just an afternoon thunderstorm. The afternoon thunderstorms seem to subside around the end of September, so it is usually decent weather then. I spent my whole life in South Florida, so I know the weather trends there. The next 10 days look good but anything can change. Just have fun and don't worry too much.

I KNOW!! Me too! At first it looked like a few showers, now it's rain the whole time we're there! Even Sun night, our MNSSHP night . I haven't got our tickets because I'm watching the weather, but it sure will screw up our plans if we don't go that night.
Weather.com doesn't look that bad. Scattered t-storms every day.
ETA Wunderground doesn't look too bad either...40 % chance of precip most days.

Thanks, I like this forcast the best......LOL.......I leave tomorrow at Noon, we drive up, I dont care about any other day excpet Friday Nte.....When We attend the MNSSHP, my girls will be in costume so I would hate for the Costumes to get ruined....other than that I can stomp around epcot in the rain, done it before had a blast,lol.......

ALmost there should be packing but instead i am Dis'ing!!!!

The best part about Florida is that usually the showers dont last all day like here in Illinois. Pack your ponchos and hit the parks. I'll give you some pixie dust that the rain wont last long.

This is for anybody visiting FL next week, I dont want to ruin your fun but rather want to inform you that the chances of TS Karen (or by then it should be Hurricane Karen) being somewhere in the vacinity of the FL. More of the forcast models are starting to lean towards this happening. The storm was suppose to go north out into the ocean, but the Bermuda high appears is going to be too strong for this to happen. The high is expected to push her to the west. Not wanting to panic anyone, just thought you might want to watch this very closely.

I think you've got the problem solved! You can't control the weather and you're gonna go, regardless of the forecast, so just HAVE FUN!!!

Well - I guess we just need to sit tight and see what happens. The weather is so unpredictable - the last time I watched the weather channel Karen was supposed to stay out in the ocean. Sounds like this has changed. The only day I would hate to get washed out is DD4's 5th bday at the MK next Wednesday - plans for BBB & CRT. She'll be heartbroken if we can't go but we'll make the best of it. Theres nothing we can do - "tis the season for hurricanes". Good luck to everyone visiting disney soon!

Can anyone point me to where the models of Karen have changed? I just went to the national hurricane website, along with accuweather, and both have Karen staying out to sea w/a low risk of hitting US.

while reliably predicting weather is an oxymoron in itself, you really can't trust anything beyond 3 days. most of that is just gimmick.

I have been literally monitoring every weather website from the Navy to the National Hurricane Center to local affiliates and EVERY single forcaster has Karen taking a northern turn eventually and well before it reaches any U.S. land. I don't know where your got the information from but if it is from the weatherunderground bloggers, they are just a bunch of hurricane cheerleaders and most of them are hoping for a hurricane hit on the U.S.

Try this forecast site for Central Florida. On another site, someone wrote that it is much reliable than the national weather sites. Hope So. We'll be there next Thursday.

I don't know where your got the information from but if it is from the weatherunderground bloggers, they are just a bunch of hurricane cheerleaders and most of them are hoping for a hurricane hit on the U.S.

You are so right about them. The Dr. is a very good and reliable source of information though. He is very informed and will give good information that people like myself can understand. But like you imply.....don't listen to the bloggers.

we are heading down next friday and I try not to get too worked up about the forcasts and use them generally for temperatuire guides re: what to pack. I have found that getting worked up about rain etc. helps NADA and more often than not--a little rain does not dampen our vacaiton plans or our disney spirit (but DOES tend to shorten lines!!!)

we had a trip booked to HHI at the DVC resort 2 years ago and had an arrival date the day a tornado was working its way up the coast and was scheduled to hit the island. we headed there anyway (they had not evacuated) and the storm ended up turning inland and the island was beautiful (and empty!) all week. (note we had plans to stay at my sisters in Raleigh NC if they did order an evac. and we relied on the fact that a tornado had not hit HHI directly in over 100 years so we werent totally crazy). but the friends we were supposed to travel with cancelled and missed a great week at the beach! thankfully DVC had a lenient cancellation policy that week and we got our unused points due to the cancelled room credited back.

Although, rain is inevitable in sunny florida

As long as it doesn't downpour for the entire trip, that would make me a little cranky.
I always over-pack, so I don't even waste my energy on that sitch anymore So I'm sure I will have all the seasonal/weather possibilities as far as clothing goes covered .
