This just in.

We purchased our initial DVC member with 150 points at SSR a year ago and just added on last week with another 30 points. The points will make a world of difference in how often we'll visit WDW (yep -- DVC is a really big money saver. :rotfl2: ) The SSR Public Offering statement last year contained lots of words and lots of numbers, but no survey map of the property. I did go to the Orange County Comptroller site to download some of the diagrams, but still had little idea as to the overall look of the entire property.

Well, we just received our papers today and the SSR POS has a fairly complete property survey and I gleaned some interesting info from looking at the survey.

  1. The SSR-POS shows 17 buildings, not 18.
  2. Treehouse Villas property has been declared into SSR.
  3. No additional feature pools depicted on the survey.

As to point # 1 -- the Phase 3 expansion of SSR promised 6 additional buildings, but the survey is only showing 5 additional buildings. There are the 2 additional buildings in the Paddock area with buildings 13 & 14 to the NNW of building 11, the Paddock building closest to the Broadway. There are 3 additional buildings (Building 15, 16 & 17) surveyed in the area now occupied by the Fairway Villas. These three buildings can definitely be considered "golf fairway views."

re: Point # 2 -- I can't imagine declaring property into a resort only to have it sit unused. The survey shows the current Treehouse Lane road system.

re: Point # 3 -- And there doesn't seem to be any room available, unless some of the manmade water features are converted into feature swimming pools.

I can't tell if my old eyes are failing me:magnify: or if this is the case, but the ruler is suggesting this:
  • The additional leisure pools at the Paddocks, "Paddocks North" and the "Fairway" do not appear to be as large as the Congress Park pool .

Oh, I'd love to see that map!! Anyway you can "scan and post"? (Not that I would know how to do such a thing myself  !!

Neil,

Can you tell from the info provided if the newer buildings will have the same design as the original 12? Same floorplan? Same # of units?

All the buildings appear to be the same "modified-U" plan that we know from Phases 1 & 2. Each one appears to have a different shaped landscape "Feature" to the front and one of the buildings in "Paddock North" has the leisure pool as the landscape "feature" to its front.

Could someone post a link to the map that shows how we "Thought" it was going to look with 6 additional buildings?

I'll see what I can do about scanning and posting. The scan is the easy part -- the posting is something new to me. Can someone walk me through it please?

Here's the map that appeared in Vacation Magic. That's all I've seen thus far regarding the design. Pretty poor quality, too.

Trying to figure out how to post a file -- have the three pertinent surveys scanned and ready to post.

You can upload them to any storage website (webshots or something like it) and then link to them.

Very nice images. Thanks!

So, are you thinking that instead of 6 more buildings they have instead gone with 5 more buildings + the treehouse villas?

I didn't realize there were so many treehouses back there!!!

That's an interesting thought tjkraz -- but notice that the Treehouse villa buildings don't appear at all on the survey. Just the land, just the road system.

Wow. The farther of the two buildings may win the "worst building at SSR" award. Far from everything - except the Guardhouse and the roads....

Those little circles on the survey aren't the Treehouse Villas?

Take a look at the resort unto itself in the middle of the Fairway. Nice view -- but there isn't going to be any walking across the greens to get to High Rock Springs Pool. The Fairway road goes up to the guardhouse and then connects with Broadway.

I think those little circles are where the Treehouse Villas are -- but might not necessarily represent the villas. From what I have seen, the Treehouse villas are hexagonal, and a circle never represents a polygon on a survey.

All very interesting. I knew I should have asked my guide about the Treehouse Villas when I had him on the phone last week.

EDIT: OK -- maybe "never" is a strong word. Probably, a circle shouldn't represent a polygon on a survey.

So, what happened to building 18?

Story is the tree houses are in a protected area and only can be rehabbed. If they are torn down nothing can be built in their place.
