connecting rooms are guaranteed for families. This may or may not be news to you, but I could have sworn I read here that they were only requests. It says: CONNECTING ROOMS ARE GUARANTEED FOR FAMILIES. I got the paper confirmation today.

Anyways- I could be feeling stupid by telling you this (possibly old) news. Just thought you'd find it interesting if you wanted to know!:thumbsup2

Mine say it also, but, from what I understand, it is still only honored if there are available adjoining rooms.

Mine also said that & I had a number connecting the 2 reservations but it didn't matter at checkin.

That makes sense. We got them because of party size, but also because of needing a handicap room. Just thought it's good to know they'll try hard to honor it!

I was told the same thing... we were 2 adults and 5 kids... and we had no problem making sure the two reservation numbers were connected. We were told that we had a "travel with number"... Apparently both room reservation numbers had this additional number attached. When I called the resort two days before we arrived to confirm this, they had all of the information, and we were fine.

If they truly arent GUARANTEED, Disney should look into rewording that line of the confirmation papers.

I hate to say this, but we have not gotten the adjoining rooms we booked on two different occasions. Once was several years ago at CBR. More recently was at ASports. On both occasions, the resorts were full; so there was no chance of moving to another room. Since dh's parents decided to go with us to CBR, it was no big deal. However, the CMs at registration did not know this until we checked in. (We're AP holders, so we had only placed ds' name on the original reservation for that room.) Originally, we were going to put our older ds in the adjoining room. Sports was a different matter. Older ds was only 13 at the time. Younger children were 5 and 3, respectively. I really didn't feel comfortable with them sleeping in a separate, unconnected room. Dh and I each had to take a different room. Not exactly what we had planned when we booked 2 value rooms instead of a deluxe that would sleep 5 (which would have cost just slightly less on that trip!!!).

The trick is to have only one reservation number. If you get two rooms with separate reservation numbers and request adjoining rooms its pure luck. If there are two parents with children needing two rooms they can make it under one reservation number but you will need to put down $200 for each room as the deposit. At least thats what they told me last week.
Who knows!!!!
