According to CM, KT does not exist!!

I spoke with a guy at MS today about the function at DL at the end of May and said "is it a big push to get those SSR points sold because of current AKV sales and upcoming GCV and KT sales?" And he said "KT is just a rumor with nothign solidified"

I found that funny being that there are pictures, videos, and all kinds of information here on the DIS boards!!! I told him he should check out the boards so he can be ahead of the game and know whats going on at his work!!!

It is true - no official announcement has been so it is technically a rumor. The Orlando Sentinnel has reported that they have a source that has confirmed it it will be (at least partly) DVC- but until there is a press release- it is a rumor.

But I have some nice property to sell you in California and Hawaii." I took that to mean that until those are for sale and doing well, we won't hear anything official about the Contemporary because it could hurt sales of the other places.

Perhaps because that paperwork would have to be filed in Hawaii and California, and perhaps those types of documents are not freely available on the internet, like they are in Florida?

When I approached a DVC CM at WDW when we were down there in March I got seriously reprimanded that it was illegal for them to talk about and that many DVC CM had lost their jobs for talking about supposed real estate deals that it was against the real estate law. I mean he went on and on about it and when I mention is was on Dis and the internet he said it was not fact and they didn't know everything.....for my 2 cents I think it is fact.

It is not just Florida laws. Here in Virginia until DVC gets it's paperwork done here, they can not talk to us until we are in Florida. That has happen when new properties are available. Usually they already started the paperwork. Most times it was a month or so. Until DVC announces and get the stuff done in each state they can not talk about it. From what I understand some of the paperwork in Florida for a DVC at the Contemporary has been filed. Either everything is not done or DVC chooses not to announce it yet.

Florida law didn't keep Disney from talking about any of their other resorts in Flordia before they were built and ready for sale. It's not a legal issue.

Bottomline is all the DVC CMs are in fear of losing their jobs for mentioning it. They know it and sometimes you can have a conversation in code, but nothing is official. Until corporate gives the OK, we need to just back off a bit and stop tormenting the CMs. Our need for gossip is far less worthy than their need to feed their families.

I don't ask loaded questions, not since I heard about the firings. It doesn't seem right. We'll know for certain soon enough.

I was at Doorway To Dreams (DVC sales center near Chicago) this week and one of the guides told me that Kingdom Tower will NOT be the final/official name of that building. She said it would be called something else. Just FYI! ​

SO which is it???? Because those two statements don't mean the same thing.

It's funny I was at Doorway to Dreams last weekend and they still will not confirm it will be DVC yet. They keep trying to see me more points and I tell them that is what I am waiting for.

Ok people, let's break it down here.

Disney doesn't do anything, tell anything and will deny EVERYTHING until the very last minute; we should all know this by now. For those who don't know this by now, trust me, it's true.

The CM's and the DVC guides know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING more than we do or those at the Orlando Sentinel do. Any DVC guide or CM who tells you ANYTHING different should be suspect. The Only people who know for sure, are the "higher ups" in the Disney company.

NOW, as far as speculation goes-the DISboards members have an extremely high success rate with the "Disney Gossip Mill." Believe me, Disney people, CM's & DVC guides know VERY WELL about the Disboards and the rumors floating around here. For those who are newer to the boards, you may not remember the architect rendering photo (shown in my signature) was FIRST unveiled here on the Disboards (I think like 1-2 years ago); then promptly removed from the architect's website..hmmm. Disney adamately (sp?) denied any knowledge of such drawings, and the official response was that the architechtural firm took part in the rendering on their own with no request from Disney...yeah RIGHT!

Interesting how a semi-circular building is now being built..cough..cough..

We all know it's coming, we all know CM's can't talk about it...doesn't mean we can't

If they are building it with studios, one and two bedrooms and Grand Villas, it's a bit late to decide to make it a regular hotel.

Well, it's not like disney doesn't do or tell anyone until the last minute. They wouln't have said anything about GCV or Hawaii if that was the case. I think they are holding on the announcement of KTV because they are about to sell out SSR. Once that is done, they will announce it. I mean, they gain nothing from announcing something they can't start selling now, but they can hurt sales of those last points at SSR.
After seeing all of the legal documentation they presented, I'm pretty sure this is going to be a DVC resort. I don't even think it is going to be a mixed use kind of resort (DVC and non-DVC rooms). There is no indication anywhere of that.
IMHO, they will announce it when it makes business sense to them, not before, nor after.
I was wondering if anyone on the boards knows if they announced SSR before or after they start building? I didn't know about until after they were already selling points, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I'm sure someone here must know.

Not necessarily, they do rent those accomodations for cash nights at existing DVC resorts. In the end, I think it will depend upon the economy whenever the building is finished, or it will be mixed use, part DVC, part cash rooms.

They don't do a very good job renting out apartment rooms through CRO - I see them sellingl a full tower's worth of rooms every night.

Meanwhile, they designed and built these as timeshare apartments. They've spent all the time and money filing them as timeshare apartments. DVC is making money hand over fist for Disney. Why on earth wouldn't they be timeshare units?

The only scenario I can imagine - and even this seems implausible to me - would be a timeshare that somehow is disconnected, or connected differently, to the rest of DVC.
