I just saw a clip of tonight's episode of According to Jim while he's on the Disney cruise on the Ellen Degeneres show. I have to laugh, because they show wood bunkbeds in the cabin! They had some of the same artwork up and the lamps were the same as were the drapes going out to the verandah. But cleary the background was so fake and I love the bunkbeds that the kids got to sleep in. I guess the acutal cabin set up wasn't good enough, that's too bad. It will be interesting to see what else was taped in the studio and what they really show from the real cruise.

That is sad. I thought Disney produced that show and their own product isn't good enough in the true form? You would think they would show the ship off and use it for advertising not that they need the advertising. All on this board probably do a lot of free marketing for DCL when we share our cruise experience with others.

I did see a commercial ad for this Tues. show and it was like I was watching the "Love Boat" ads from the 70's. That was cute. I know on the Love Boat TV show they always portrayed the staterooms as massive suites, as we all know, staterooms are not oversized hotel rooms.

We will be watching tonight. Kathy

I would guess that the standard cabins are too small for filming scenes in so they built a mock-up. I do agree that they should have put the real furnishings in the mock-up.

A few years ago Sabrina the Teenage Witch had an episode set at WDW. They indicated that they were walking back to their hotel (Coronado) from AK! I guess they take some poetic license. I just think about the people watching who will assume that they are showing things as they really are and will be surprised when they see how things really are.

I also assumed the real rooms are too small to film in, but I hope they make it look 'some what' like the real rooms. The bunk beds were probably too complicated to make on the set (since there is now ceiling to pull out a ceiling bed---there is lighting and mics in the area that would be the ceiling on a set).

Well, I am excited to see the show, I have 2 VCRs set (in case one fails---I have a habit of not always getting the commands set just right and sometimes things I think will tape don't tape, so I have a back up plan :D ).

I had a meeting to go to tonight, but I am going to skip it just to stay home and watch this with my family! I even have a box of Girl Scout Tag-A-Long cookies hidden as a 'treat' to eat during the show!

I agree the rooms are too small for taping but it is Disney, they should of reproduced the room on the set to at least ressemble the real stateroom. Oh well, it will be fun to watch. As my husband said, "they just expect people will get on the ship and will get over the fact the room doesn't match what they thought saw on TV." So true. Kathy

I was just going to post about this being on tonight! I am looking foward to it and I really don't watch that show. I'll bet I will run and book us at least a Wonder cruise after seeing the show!
LOL....

On the network website ABC.com (sorry don't know how to paste the link) you can click on According to Jim, there is a photo gallery section. Maybe some of you diser's are in the photos. I for one can't wait to see the show tonight.

I hope they show more of the ship tonight (like the dining rooms maybe). We are set!

Hello,
We sailed 2/7 and saved a few on our "pillow" chocolates to enjoy during the two Jim episodes. It's almost the next best thing....

Enjoy,
Dawn Hope

For those in the Pittsburgh area, the show is pre-empted tonight for the Pitt game. It will be aired between 2 and 3 am, depending on how long the game lasts.

The tape is still in the VCR from taping last week's show. The VCR is set and ready to tape tonight's show as well.

We watched our new DCL DVD this afternoon to help get us ready for tonight's "According to Jim."

Tell me how it was. We won't get to see it here because it's election day, and the show won't be running because of election coverage.

Thanks for this post. I signed on saw this and ran to the TV. I missed the first half but I am watching now.:D

Karen from Cruise Staff was shown....during the Mexican Hat Dance. She is a very funny host. she hosted a lot of things on the 2/7/04 cruise.

Was that an actor or a real CM in Palo???
