Accoding to Jim/DCL

It was nice to hear "When you wish upon a star" at the end of the show tonight!!!

Well we got our 10 seconds of fame. In the scenes from last week when Jim pushes Goofy, my son is in frame for a couple of seconds ( he's wearing the orange t-shirt) As the action moves to the right my daughter also in orange is shown and me between them in yellow. Did anyone else see themselves on the show?

Hey great you got to see family members!!!!
I have to say though an Emmy for this series is very doubtful :) I found the whole premise, and the humour so lame. Think they should have left Jim and the cast on shore and just shown the Magic. Would have been much more entertaining :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Only been on Wonder, Does Magic have bunk Beds???
Even though the room was a set, It still was close to being the room. With the obvious exception of the fourth wall.
It was still cool seeing the kids love the "Bunk Beds" as our kids love them too. Glad they didn't see the ladder though.

No the Magic does not really have bunkbeds. I know their room didnt look much like a real DCL cabin , but in defense of DCL and ABC they really wouldnt be able to make an identical replica, it would be to hard to shoot in. Think of what a living room or bed room looks like on a sitcom... they can only show like half of it.

Just checked, the local ABC station is in wall to wall election coverage, but will run it at 1:22 am. Good thing I work graveyard shift.

mark & sandra:wave2: I saw you and your daughter last week and this week. I read that you were going to be on there before the show last week and was on the look-out. My whole family spotted you both! I know that is so exciting for you!!!:teeth:

Verandah Man  I got choked-up when I heard "When You Wish Upon a Star" at the end of the show and I have never been on a Disney Cruise!!! We don't have long, though!!!:Pinkbounc

I guess the main reason that I enjoyed the show because it was filmed on Disney "Magic"! Both episodes were funny!

Mark/Sandra (which one are you? Will I be looking for a man or woman in the yellow shirt? LOL)- I taped the first show for this very reason... in case someone spied themselves in the show and told us about it! Now I can go look at it again tomorrow and see a DIS'er and kids! :) Very cool. And actually I think you are VERY lucky to be in this show... considering so FEW other people were shown! LOL I swear... on the ship it looked almost like they had the cruise booked for themselves... is that how it seems when on the ship for real? Like hardly any other people there when walking the deck, eating at Palo, etc?

Oh and my favorite part was the horn near the end of the show... I've only heard it online and it didn't sound exactly the same... it gave me goosebumps! Can't wait to hear it in person. :)

I liked the 2nd episode a lot better. Lots more shots of the wonderful ship. I loved watching them walk on deck 4, and then eating in Palo, and then out by the pool!

I was disappointed in the horn - didn't have the same wonderful sound quality as the real one.

Not a fan of the show at all, but worth it for these two episodes.

GenieDana:

Thank you so much for posting that video clip. My DD5 and I watched it together and she got a kick out of it - that it was on mom's computer! We are almost about 60 days to our Western and the video just gets me so excited! Thank you!

On Topic:

I've never watched this sitcom before. These are the only two episodes we watched. How cool it would be to see your family on prime time! What a great experience for your kids!

With an upcoming cruise, our family was delighted to see a little bit of Mickey's boat !

We let DS stay up late so he could watch his beloved "Disney boat!" Actually, it was all DH's doing. We usually go to bed at 9 (we're up at 4 AM everyday), so I was surprised when DH turned on the tv. I was even more surprised when he said he wanted to watch "According to Jim" because it was going to be on the Magic. He's not on the DIS, and I never said anything to him, but he read about it and really wanted to see it!

I have to admit, the bar scene made us both LOL (although DH, who used to bartend, said Jim should have gargled to mix the drinks before spitting it into the glass.:crazy2: )

It was great to see the ship featured. DS was enthralled. Wish we had another cruise booked.:(

Unfortunately it's not typically like this. Although there are certain times and spots where it can be. We were the first to board on our August, 2002 cruise because my kids were chosen to do the countdown. We took a walk around to check out the ship since it was our first cruise and we were all alone way up on the top deck then in the ESPN club and at the Goofy pool. We have pictures of the pool area and top decks with absolutely nobody else around. It was pretty cool. Our cruise was full but I did not find a problem with crowds except for the character signings.

I didn't recognize the bar where Jim was "bartending". Is that one real (it looked like it was), and if so, where is it?

Thanks............

Ed

I was trying to figure that out too...the room looked like the decor in Diversions, but I didnt' remember the bar being curved like that or lit up...I didn't sit there, so it could have been. Maybe Sessions? I only peeked in there, so I'm not sure, but that was my guess!

Could the bar scene be in the Cove Cafe. My DS14 thought the room looked like the old Common Grounds area.

The bar looked like the promenade lounge.

We let DS stay up late also. He nearly fell off the bed during the bar scene he was laughing so hard. I really think this show should have been 2 1 hour shows. They didn't show any of the pools, the theatres or Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

BUT it really made us miss the ship.

We thought the bar scene was Sessions? We enjoyed the show because of the ship. We also liked hearing the horn at the end. One thing we also noticed: where were all the people during the hat dance? People should of been walking up and down the stairs and leaning over the top rails. We all knew the sail-away party was the real deal but did they film the hat dance before people were on the ship? I am glad we saw it and I enjoyed part 2 better than part 1 because it means we are only 18 days from our cruise:bounce: Kathy

I was thinking the bar scene might be at Sessions or the Promenade Lounge as well. Seeing the water rushing by the port hole windows, made me think, that filming was taking place on deck 3.

Since we can't seem to get a consensus on what bar was in that scene, I guess I'll just have to be sure to go to every bar on the ship to try and figure it out! :D

Hope they're well stocked with Johnnie Walker......

I immediately thought it was Sessions....that club is usually very dark but I do remember the bar being curved like that.
