Accident on Pirates?

That poor, poor man.

How many times have you done something stupid, gotten distracted for a moment, been careless, and had nothing come of it? Probably more times than any of us realize.

There was nothing malicious about his actions-- it sounds like an accident.

How incredibly awful that a moment's distraction led to an accident that will effect the rest of his life.

.

This. I feel really bad for him. Yes, he did something stupid by not listening to instructions, but it's still an awful thing to have happen. Thankfully the damage wasn't much much worse.

I'll start. Just kidding. Kind of.

Sucks for the guy, but seriously... Follow the rules people. You're a grown man for crying out loud. Do you really need to put your hands in the water? Grow up. I may sound harsh, but follow the rules. A kid sticking hands in the water is one thing, an adult is entirely different.

I see kids sticking their hands in the water on It's a Small World almost every time we ride it. Mom and dad sitting right there. I cringe every time and just pray no one loses a finger.

I'm sorry, but why would you even stick your hand in the water? That cannot be sanitary.

:worship:

I'd much rather hang out with the flawed people than the perfect people who have nothing better to do than remind everyone of how perfect they are.

2 thumbs up

Can't help but wonder if the accident had anything to do with the new boats everyone is complaining about.

What new boats?:scratchin

My opinion: I do feel bad for the guy even though it was his own fault and he should have followed the rules. We all do stupid things sometimes. Unfortunately, people who don't follow the rules and get hurt, are usually people who tend not to follow the rules all the time and have just been lucky up until the time they are not. :sad1: I really hate to see anyone's vacation get ruined, especially the people who waited on a long line, and were just about to step in the boat, when they were told the ride has been closed down. Happened to me a few times, a big bummer.

I agree. It was a stupid thing to do, but I feel really bad for him. I'm glad he didn't lose a whole hand.

It's possible that this man had his hands resting on the edge or side of the boat, just as many people rest their hands on the edge or side of the door when they're in an automobile with the windows down. On some attractions, when the boats enter the unloading area at the end of the ride, they get really close and sometimes bash into the dock or railings.
