Accident on Backlot Tour

My friend Frank called me today to let me know about an incident on the Backlot Tour.

He was in a tram that was passing behind the Lights Motors Action stunt show when the entire attraction was shut down for about 40 minutes. Eventually, all of the passengers on the trams he could see were evacuated from the ride on foot, but not before Frank caught site of a Disney maintanence pickup truck backing out of Catastrophe Canyon - with a battered and dented tram door loaded in the back.

So it seems that a tram may have sustained some damage while inside of Catastrophe Canyon.

No further word on damage or injuries, but I'm sure we'll hear about it soon.

Catastrophe Canyon has always freaked me out, but the thought of that is just frightening! I wonder how it happened?

i am quite interested! as i had heard once that hte boulders and what not were actually of fibreglass (not sure if thats true) so i am left to wonder how a dent would happen, even if a boulder hit the tram...(that said, i could be talking out of my hat!)
scary none the less! i wonder if we will hear about it

just fyi the old trams are stored behind catasrophy canyon just to the right. so he may have just caught a tram being moved for regular matinece.
