I realize there are some features at a few of the DVC for wheelchair individuals such as the steps yoou can sit on and "bum" your way into the pool... and zero entry. I was just wondering if any pools (at the newer DVC's or any for that matter) have a hoist or chair lift near/beside the pools, to help inidviduals who are more affected by the'r diabilty and require transfers into the pools???

Not that I'm aware of . But you might want to post on the disability boards as well they would know and have many DVCers over there.

There's a tv show, "Extreme Home Makeover" that comes on Sunday nights. Week before last, they sent the family they were helping to WDW and they stayed at SSR. The mom was on a wheelchair. There was footage showing her in a lift that lowered into the pool at SSR. Now maybe this was just for the show, I don't know.. but there's a place for you to start.

good luck! :goodvibes

The hot tub at saratoga Springs has a lift and the pool is zero entry. They also have pool wheelchairs at no charge. They also have an area where you can bring your wheelchair up to it and slide down a small slide. SSR is very wheelchair friendly. Susan
