Hi all,
It's getting close to our wonderful early X-mas trip to the WL and I was wondering about the accessibility of this resort.
I use a wheelchair but need a room with a bathtub since a shower seated or otherwise is never a good option. My mom who has the same disability as I uses a cane and needs a shower. Wondering about anyone's experiences with this resort and room options?
Thanks so much for the help.

I had a problem in the bathroom at this resort and had to be moved, despite having an "accessible" room. If you can transfer, hopefully you'll be fine. There's a wall between the sink area and the toilet, so there was no way for me to get my chair next to the toilet, which was in a rather small alcove. I never noticed the tub/shower facilities after I realized there was no way we could stay in that room! It was a big hassle to move, also, and we ended up in a less than desirable room at the Contemporary, plus were given NO help in the move. I'd call the WL directly if CRO can't help you, and ask for the bathroom type you'd like. Usually though, we've had to choose between either the roll-in shower or tub with rails and "tub chair", vs. being able to have both options. Good luck! ---Kathy

Are you staying in the resort or the villas (that would make a difference in the answer)? We sayed in a regular 2 bedroom villa in March. The master bedroom had a shower and the other bedroom (which would be a studio if rented out separatly) had a tub. I don't know how the accessible rooms are set up, but the regular room didn't work well for us since the master bathroom is sort of 3 separate rooms and none of them are very big.

Here's the phone number for WDW Resort Special Reservations:
(407) 939-7807
(407) 939-7670 [TTY]
Hopefully, they can answer your specific questions about what exactly is in rooms.

Another thing to be aware of is that the boat may or may not be accessible to wheelchairs, based on the water level compared to the level of the docks. The alternative is to take a bus. We were told we would need to take a bus to TTC and then the boat or monorail from there to MK.

Thanks for the responses I have been in rehearsals and have not been able to respond as quickly as I would have liked.

I just reread my post and was a little vague in the room situation.
We have reserved two separate rooms.
One for my mom and dad and one for my husband and I.

SueMn..thanks for the phone numbers I will call them and check on actual room
layouts.

Again thanks for all the help.
