I had to read today in a carol service and everyone told me that I am quite well spoken when I want to be. And now I notice, that when I talk to people I don't know, teachers or am in a situation where I need to be professional, my voice gets slightly higher and I make sure I announciate each letter.
Usually, my "estuary" accent gets in the way. Think cockney, but a little easier on the ears, more feminine and in no way, Dick Van D. style

So you have an accent? What is it like? Do you find your voice changes when you talk to other people?
