The general public can see the ship from La Reina Park right across from the pier, only a few lucky VIP will get to go on board. I just received my invitation a few days ago, so i have my hands full that day.

The race, the welcome festivities, fire works, plaque exchange ceremony, etc.

I will probably have an assistant at my desk ready to hand out the shirt to the winner, cause I'll be really busy that morning.

You are so very lucky to get to go on the ship...

I'm always invited to have my meals on board the ships, and to all inagural call ceremonies.

Every time a ship calls a new port, they have an offical ceremony where they exchange plaques. Only for ship officials and local authorities, we are presenting a beautiful glass cut plaque conmemorating the inaugural call to Acapulco.

This will take place onboard at 11:15 am some where on board, there will be many important people from Acapulco, the Mayor, the Governor, my self, etc.

The Meal will probably take place in the adult only restruant on the Ship called Palo...........VERY NICE !!

Nahhh, it takes more than 500 persons chanting my name to embarrass me.

I'll be on the pier helping the pilot bring the ship in to the berth.

I'll wave hi to every one and say hello on the pier when they disembark.

A group photo would be awesome,we can do it on the tip of the pier where we have a great view of the bay.

We're gonna have lunch at Palo, received an itinerary of the thins we're gonna do on board.

Roberto-I am getting ready to print out our disboards mini navigator for the Westbound Kingdom to Kingdom Cruise leaving this Saturday and headed your way!!!!

Is there anything that you would like me to include in our mini-navigator for the day we arrive in Acapulco?

I know Hygiene99 (Peter) has mentioned the Great Acapulco Shirt Race, but I don't have any information on that.

Any times, places, etc., that you would like me to put in with be great and if I am going to tell our shipmates how and where to look for you as we are pulling into port, how and what would I describe in writing?

Also, are you going to raise a Disney Cruise Ship flag near where we dock on a flag pole? If so, where and when?

Are we being escorted into the port and what time do I tell people to get out of bed so they don't miss us pulling in on May 23?

Hi Linda,

The "Great Acapulco Polo Shirt" race is something I came up with, the winner must find the way to get to my office on the first floor and he/she will receive an authentic Port Authority Polo shirt.

You can look in this thread for further details on how to get to my office, there's a map that could make all the difference in winning along with some instructions on how to get there.

The ship will be greeted by a tug blasting it's awter canons from the entrance to the bay, I will be waiting on the tip of the pier, hlping the pilot bring the ship along side. You can find pictures of me in my web pic link.

We will have the Mexican Marching band on the pier welcoming the ship, many of my staff in regional outfits will say hello and give out for the first 400 guests a hand painted book marker. (I will keep a few to give out)

We will also have guys on stilts welcoming the ship, 2 clowns and the disney flag will be close to the cruise terminal next to our flag for TMM.

The ship is scheduled to arrive to Acapulco at 8am at the pilots station and 8:45 alongside the pier on it's port side.

I will be the only one on the pier with a radio, very easy to recognize.

I am giving away an authentic Acapulco Port Authority Polo Shirt, for the first person that arrives to my desk on the May and August calls to Acapulco of the Disney Magic.

The rules are very simple;

1.- You have to be a registered DIS boarder.
2.- You can not jump or pass stanchions or line dividers that will be placed on the pier, the exit is through the cruise terminal.
3.- Only the first person that arrives to my desk will claim the prize, sorry no second place or ties.
4.- You can not send your children, it's a grown up race.

You could find a map of the Port in my company's web page in the spanish version. My office is located in front of Banamex. Some one has already posted easy to follow instructions on how to get to my desk on this thread, look for it.

You CAN ask any one on the pier on instructions.
You CAN race drunk, altough I wouldn't recommend it.
You CAN get arrested if you jump the steal barriers out on the street.(I'll bail you out)

You MUST have fun...

I may have some one at my desk, since I am responsible for many things and must be around the gangway for operations.

Hold in there, only a few days away for a unique experience. I've been there and completely understand you.

Even thuogh I planned for months in advance, I managed to forget the TICKETS, so make a check list...see youthen.

Just testing for the arrival of the DM on Monday, I'll try to post the ship when it enters the bay. And a few of the festivities on the pier.

We have my own CCTV cams through out the port.

Last test, the CCTV software is not very user friendly and I just found out how to trasfer to JPG images.

I will try to post a few live picks before I run to the pier and bring the ship into the berth, then I'll take pictures with my camera and up load them so every one can enjoy them.

I am sure you will be pleased, I will post the arrival to the bay and then when the ship is berthed, I will take my camera for on the pier scenes of the welcome festivities.

I have a key and plaque exchange from 11am to 1pm with lunch at Palo, then I'll come back to my desk to upload the pics.

The DM is expected to arrive to the Pilots Station at 9am CST and alongside at approximately 9:40am.
