AC Regional flights rescheduled. Grrr

Just got a flurry of emails and texts that my flights have all been rebooked for our November and February-March trips.

Looks like early morning Jazz flights out of Saint John (YSJ) and Fredericton (YFC) have been removed starting 1st of November.

The flights were auto rescheduled and are not convenient or conductive to our vacation.
Looking at our closest "international" airport of Moncton (1 hour away) I may be able to rebook our Feb-March flights to close to our preferred times. I'm sure prices have increased.

My November flights are a mess and I may have to cancel and drive across the border to Bangor, Maine (3 hours + border)

What a pain. Anyone else get the dirty end of the stick?

We got emails today too. My daughter was rescheduled (from a direct flight to Ottawa) through YUL with only 1 hour to get through customs

My direct flight from Halifax has been changed to arrive after 4:00. I was on the phone holding for 4 hours this am sorting it all out. We are now flying out the night before and spending the night in Toronto, so we can get to Orlando before noon.

Frustrating - AC is fine when everything works as it should. It's too bad when it is not working as it should that it's a miserable experience.

Welp - looks like we are leaving the evening before but spending the night in Orlando for our Feb-March trip - now just have to adjust some other reservations. Our return flights were untouched so that's a plus. This one was with Aeroplan points- only 1 hour 15 minutes to get a CSR.

Don't know how I'm going to salvage my November trip - there doesn't appear to be any real decent flights coming or going that will accomodate us - it was booked cash so that's a separate call center - looks like 2+ hours to call. Wish me luck.

Very frustrating. Westjet has unfortunately been doing much of the same. In our case (and I have seen others have complained too) they often cancel Vancouver to Orlando direct and rebook through Toronto or Calgary.

We are also affected … we were on AC direct flights from YHZ in January and March that were canceled. Reshuffled some departure days around and now we are still direct on the way down both times but will have to connect on the way home. Such a bummer !

FYI: With a schedule change, AC will let you choose whatever alternative flights you want +/- 3 days. You can also change your arrival airport (but not your departure annoyingly) if it is within 200 miles. This is all regardless of fate increases.

Our February flights were also changed. It was just minor for us (40 minutes earlier), but after a long wait on hold I was able to switch for free to a flight that actually worked better than what I had originally scheduled. I just wish I could have made the change online instead of sitting on hold.

We just had the same with AC for our March break trip next year to Miami. Sounds like they are modifying a whole bunch. For us, it's not a huge deal as it just pushes the time out by about 1hr on each side. I was irritated at first as they gave us crappy assigned seats again at the back...which we paid to have moved. But DH was able to move us up again (and they even refunded the seat change fee)

Then you can easily select new flights, and the price doesn’t change. At least that was my experience, YMMV.

Yup, I saw that, but the link I could click if I didn't want to accept the changes didn't have any other options for me. Oh strange. I think the link actually took me to the search page, and from there I selected a new flight. It looked just like the regular search but no prices.

We've had our Westjet return flight changed twice since we booked it last November. The first change had us returning 3 days early from MCO. Ah no! Had to call to get them to rebook a flight for the date we want to leave. Then we had another change where they had us returning a day earlier than we wanted. Again, on the phone to Westjet and get another flight rebooked to return on the day wanted. Our flight from YYJ has never changed - it is only the flight from MCO that has changed twice. We leave the end of August, so hopefully we won't get anymore changes? So frustrating.

Yah if I pressed the change flight button a big red banner told me to call Reservations.

Got my Nov flights sorted but my return has 2 stops opposed to the usual 1 stop.

FYI: The AC agent told me that if they bring back the direct flight I can change back to that flight for no cost. They have done this in the past on the YHZ-MCO route so I will definitely keep an eye on it.

Perfect, I will keep an eye out for my previous return flight. No sense in changing my departures to MCO back to a Friday morning when you can go on a Thursday night!!!
