AC Flight Changes

Hello Dis friends.
I found this link on the Air Canada site. It says you can sign up to receive notice of changes made to flights plans you have booked. I've seen lots of posts commenting on the lack of notice and thought this might help. I have not tried it myself but wanted to pass on the info.

I've signed up for this service with AC before and have NOT received notification of flight changes, so don't rely on it to keep you informed. In fact for my December flight we've had 2 flight changes and I haven't had any notification at all.

Also each time I called AC about the flight changes I was told they'd email a new itinerary, and each time they didn't. So don't rely on that either.

Westjet very rarely changes their schedule, mostly what they end up with are weather delays etc. If they do actually change their schedule, they're usually pretty good with calling people and letting them know.

Do you happen to have an 800 # for AC to check on schedule changes? or is there one on their website?

You'd need to do one of the following:
1) Go into your reservation on the AC website and check to make sure the flight times are still the same as they were;
2) Check the flight schedules on AC to make sure they're still the same as they were;
3) Call the AC res number 1-888-247-2262 and have them pull up their reservation.

When I noticed Westjet changed the return flight times on their online booking system for my trip to Orlando in November, I called them and asked them to verify these changes. They e-mailed me a new itinerary. (I had to call several times as I hadn't recieved the itinerary yet, and it turned out they had the wrong e-mail address in their system for some reason though I'd recieved e-mails from them previoiusly). I asked them on the phone if they normally e-mail and let you know of any flight changes and they said they do.

Just make sure if you have a hotmail address to check your junk mail box as well as I've found that Westjet's e-mails are often filtered there for some reason.

Thanks, Jamie-Lyn. I did go and check, and I guess that I'll have an extra 30 minutes in the Sunshine State in January. (and, no, I haven't had an email from them yet)

You got 30 extra minutes!!!

You must have gained the extra 30 minutes of sunshine they took away from me. My flight now leaves Orlando at 2:45 instead of 3:20. The thing that makes me laugh though, is they changed my connection flight from Calgary to Regina as well, so even though I now leave Orlando earlier, I actually get into Regina later, go figure! That just means more time to spend in the Calgary airport, as if our over night stopover on the way there wasn't already enough time in the airport.
