Y'all, I don't know what to do. We had to cancel our big WDW/UO trip, but last minute my husband is being sent by his company to a convention Aug 21-24, and they're offering to cover a Disney hotel (up to a certain amount +gas), even though the convention is at another hotel in Orlando! He's allowed to bring us (wife, DD13, DS almost 2) and we can arrive/depart up to any 7 nights between Aug 19-27. (Honestly his boss is so awesome.) I've got so many questions, but as this is the family forum, I'm just gonna ask a few specific things.

1. Hubby will want to join us 2 days, so how do I tickets when DD and I will have probably 4-5 day tickets and he'll just need a 2 day? I was going to buy them through UT, so is there a way to indicate in MDE that the 2 day is for him and the 4-5 day are for us?

2. DD and I aren't thrill riders, so we're cool to miss Splash Mountain, 7DMT, etc since it'll just be us and DS (who will be less than a month short of turning 2), but is it allowed for the 13yo to ride something by herself if she wanted, like the teacups? Would DS be allowed to sit with DD on something like Dumbo (DD doesn't like going high) or a dark ride like Pooh if I'm also in the vehicle but in the back seat?

3. This one's kind of dumb/random, but can the kid check meals have a soda subbed in as the drink? Not for the toddler but sometimes my 13yo eats like a bird.

4. Last but not least, how does rider swap work with LL? All 3 of us want to ride FOP and DD and myself may try Guardians with hubby (we get motion sick). Does DS have to be in the LL party? Do we just make the reservation, get to the LL, and tell the cast member we need to do rider switch?

1. Once you link the tickets you'll be able to assign them to the correct person
2. Officially the rule is kids under 7 need to be accompanied by someone 14 or older. Your daughter can ride whatever she wants by herself.
3. I've never tried to swap out the drinks, so I don't know (my kids are either too young for soda or don't like soda)
4. Your DS isn't ticketed, so he doesn't need to be included in any lightning lanes or ILLs. All 4 of you go to the CM, the person who is riding twice will have an RS added to their band. All ticketed members of the party will need Lightning lanes or ILLs.

Any kids meal drink can be subbed out at a quick service. Get the MDE app (if you don't have it) and play around with the options in mobile order to see what your choices are at the different locations--some have more than others. I still order a kids meal sometimes and I'm well over 13.
