ABS repair questions

Has anyone ever had to have their cars ABS repaired?

Our Antilock break light is staying on so we are going to have to go have it looked at. What exactly is wrong with a car when the ABS goes out? How much does it cost to repair? TIA!

around here it costs 95. to put it on the machine to see where the problem is coming from. It's usually one of the four wheel sensors which aren't too expensive but it can be the abs pc.

Just curious, what kind of car is it? The reason I am asking is because I have a 1997 Chevy Malibu and the light constantly comes on. We found out it was the ABS sensor that was causing it. I can't remember exactly how much they said it would be to fix it, but we chose not to!
