? about Vistana and Cypress Pointe

I've read many good reports about Vistana and Cypress Pointe. Are these resort hotels or time shares? ? If time shares....do you have to listen to a sales pitch? (NOT interested!) Do the rooms come with daily maid service? What draws people to these two popular destinations?

These are both timeshare resorts. Both rent out surplus inventory to the public.

A sales pitch is only required at timeshare resorts if you are paying a special, discounted, promotional rate and the sales tour requirement (ex., "90 minutes") is mentioned in the fine print at the time of your reservation. Most guests are offered a tour but you are under no obligation to do one if you did not agree to it as a condition of your stay.

Daily housekeeping is normally provided if you are paying a nightly rental rate directly to the resort (or a broker or wholesaler). If you pay a weekly rate, through the resort, through an auction site, through an exchange company or through an individual owner, then there is no daily housekeeping service. Most timeshare resorts have daily housekeeping available for an additional fee, with 24 hour advance notice. The condo is always cleaned between occupants or once weekly, whichever comes first.

People like Sheraton Vistana Resort and Sunterra Cypress Pointe Resort for several reasons. They are located very close to Disney property. There are many resort and room amenities not found at suite hotels. These properties are generally well-maintained. And the weekly prices available tend be very affordable. HTH.
