Ok. After looking at the budget here are the two choices. Help me decide. Have to book my reservations ASAP!

1. Stay at PO riverside. 7 nights 8 days in a preferred room.

2. Stay at Caribben Beach. 9 nights 10 days in a standard room.

We will not be doing any water parks during our stay.
Myself, hubby, 15 year old, 12 year old and a 2 1/2 year old.

I absolutely LOVE CBR and stay there whenever I can. Plus it's 2 extra nights/days - and it's really not THAT big.

Stayed at POR once and hated it - plus the preferred rooms are in the Bayou section which just looks icky to me.

I'd take option 2 in a heartbeat.

I've stayed in both and I like both. They're both great resorts, and even though I prefer POR (I actually think the Bayou is cute...:confused3), I'd go with option 2 for the extra days.

Of course go with 2 more Disney days!!!! Park Tickets for those extra days are only 10 bucks a day more! What a bargain! Those extra days will help you to pace yourself, by having down time at the resort to lay in one of those hammocks on a white sand beach, while spending partial days in the parks, sleeping in some days, then going out for nighttime parades and fireworks. Don't toss a coin....go for two more days!

I would go for CBR. It's our family's favorite resort. Your 2 year old will love the pirate water playground. We have stayed at both but we really enjoy everything about CBR. Also, seeing as you get an extra 2 days if you stay there, I would go for it.

I wouldn't stay at CBR in a standard room every again! Is there no way you can swing the preferred room? CBR is just soooo huge, and in standard you will have a bit of a walk anywhere--to the themed pool, food court, and gift shop. I took the advice of many that said the walk wasn't a big deal and booked standard. Big mistake. It may only be a 7 minute walk or so to the pool from some standard rooms but when you are tired from being in the parks all day, that is more of a walk than I wanted. I can't imagine doing it with small kids, and then having to do it again to get back to the room.

Two extra days would be great, but those 2 days at CBR? Wow, I really don't think so. I'd probably downgrade to a value first.

The preferred room at POR gives you the extra murphy bed, is that a consideration? If not then i would go for 2 extra nights. However, the size of the resort would concern me if not paying for preferred but that's me.

We love CBR! We'd be staying there again this fall for my birthday, but DH is wonderful and we've always wanted to stay at the Poly just once and since it's my bday and all during this trip he said stay at the Poly or if couldn't get Poly to pick another monorail resort.
Plus your getting extra days if you stay at CBR.....and who doesn't love extra days at Disney?
If not getting a preferred room, you can look at resort map and request one of the sections closer to the pool/food court area. It's not a guarantee, but we've done it that way and were lucky to get our request. IF not, there's the internal bus if you don't want to walk. We enjoy walking the resort and taking in the sights on non-park days.

Before I answer I have to say that CBR is gynormous. I like it a lot, but I booked preferred. Is the difference between the two the preferred category at POR and not at CBR? I like to compare apples to apples.

With that said, as long as you are okay with the walking....and there will be a lot of walking at CBR, I woudl book CBR for two extra days.

We've never stayed at POR, but we loved everything about CBR! The atmosphere was beautiful, the pool was great with a fun pirate theme for kids, the food court had a lot of variety, and the buses were quick and efficient. As others have said, CBR is huge, but we didn't find it to be a problem. We found the buses to be great and we didn't mind the walking. We just took our time and were never in a hurry, so the walking wasn't bad at all for us. POR looks like a nice resort, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back to CBR. Good luck.

We prefer POR far and above CBR but 2 extra days totally wins. And the pool at CBR is great! One of the best on property for young ones IMO.

I prefer CBR to POR, so even without the extra days I would choose CBR however factoring in CBR has two extra days, to me it's a no brainer to choose CBR. We stayed in a standard room and were in Jamaica just over the bridge, the walk was fine. Just request a standard section that's not to far.
