After closing on a resale, can you purchase an add on directly from DVC to become direct member?
Thanks for any feedback!
I believe it is up to 150 now.Yes but it would need to be 125 points min to get the direct member benefits if that’s what you mean.

Yup you’re right just went and doubled checked the siteI believe it is up to 150 now.
Yes just went up to 150 points
You can buy an add-on from Disney, but it won’t give you a blue card and access to Membership Extras unless you buy at least 150 points.
I can’t believe it’s that high when the only perk of true value to most is the discounted annual pass and a lot of members can’t even use that! The lounge is a nice perk but many of the discounts are available with an annual pass, or Disney visa so it’s a pretty expensive blue card when compared to resale.Dang. I wish I would have held on to my original one that I sold when I moved overseas.

Adding to my previous post because I forgot new resale owners can’t book riviera and just the ”legacy resorts.” That is definitely a blow for newer resale vs direct points. I’m not a direct member myself but bought before that restriction so it kind of slipped my mind.
Depending on the size of the contract, if you do the math it’s a lot of annual passes needed to make up for the savings in resale. Totally agree with renting to stay at Riv, just rent out your points and rent some at Riv.Yeah, I’m only interested in annual pass discount, honestly.
