I was just looking on the Disney website and if you buy the park hooper tickets in advance you get a discount. Hubby wanted to just buy a one ticket per day thing so we don't feel obligated to spend all out time in WDW. He wants to do Dicovery Cove and Sea World and have free time. We are going for 10 days so I figure whatever we don't use on the hoppers will be good forever right?

I was going to go with the 5 day reguar hopper, thoughts?

Also if I buy them from the site I will recieve thm before we leave in 20 days right?

Thanks!

Wen

If you're going to be there for 10 days, and have any chance of coming back again someday, I'd definitely go for the 5-day passes. Not only are they cheaper than the one day / one park option, you'll have a lot more flexibility. If you buy a one day / one park and go into DAK, then decide at noon that you're pretty much done there, you don't have the option to see another park that day unless you purchase another one day / one park ticket. With a 5-day hopper, you can bounce around all you like and get the most bang for your buck. One day / one park tickets are a great deal for Disney, but not so much for the guest!

You are correct when you say that the tickets will be good forever. Any days you don't use this time can be used next time. Just don't lose your tickets! If the prospect of spending half your vacation at WDW isn't something your husband is comfortable with, there's always a 4-day hopper. You can sell that pretty easily by saying, "Well ... we'll want to visit all four parks, right? We'll need at least four days ... "

As for getting them in time ... you should. It's usually two weeks or so. But be sure to print off your receipt and any other confirmations you get. That way, if the tickets don't make it to you before you leave, you have proof you purchased and paid for them and can take that to Guest Relations to get your passes.

I would suggest the 5day PH. They will allow you to park hop in the same day which the 1day passes do not allow. They are 1day 1park. The good thing about the PH passes is that they are flexible if you dont use a day they are good on a future visit. When you take into consideration that ticket prices rise every year you actually save money with the PH.

So mix up your trip do Disney and Sea World.

See hubby doesn't want to make it a DISNEY vacation, he jsut wants to go and do whatever. Just heading down with the mindset of we will do Discovery Cove, Sea World and MK. I am like ermmm well what are we going to do the other 7 days???? I think I am just going to buy the 5 day PH.

One more question about the advance purchase from disney, can I get that same price at a local disney store near me?

I understand your hubby's point, but he won't be able to do just "whatever" with one day / one park passes. He'll be stuck in each park all day. If you guys go into MK in the morning and you get tired of it in the afternoon, you have no other option without a park hopper. With the PH, you can play at MK in the morning and then take in IllumiNations at night and not feel like you're wasting a ticket. Maybe if you put it to him that way. That you may actually spend LESS time at Disney parks with a park-hopper, since you can move from park to park in the same day. (Hey ... it's worth a try! :p )

As for prices, I don't believe you can get the same discounts at Disney Store as you can on-line. I believe the on-line prices are specials for on-line purchases only. Anyone else know for sure?

Drum roll please.... Their tickets are the same as the advance purchase on the site. It was going to be 881.82 for % day hoppers for my family (2 AD + 2 Kids)on the site and it's the same price from them. Getting it from them saves me the hassle about worrying about them coming in themail and I save the shipping.

Also another ? What's the difference in the tickets, I hear some are credit card like, where can you get those?

Is it worth it to get eh PHP? If we don't do the water parks or we do 1 does the other OPTION carry over forever?

You don't mean he only wants to see MK do you? that is only one park period. He does want to see the other parks as well right?
the one day one park tickets are more expensive per day and more restrictive in use than a hopper and as you say unused days don't expire.
Has he done all of WDW before or what? How aware is he of what is REALLY there? also park hoppers do not need to be used consecutively if that is what he is thinking.
also I assume you are staying off site?
