I am planning on buying my tickets at a Disney Store at home before going to WDW
My 5 year old doesnt have to sign his name, right? Can I write it for him?

And, I dont understand the finger scan. If I buy my tickets at home, then when and how will WDW scan or match my fingerprint to the ticket?

Thanks
Kris

Bumping this back to page one for you.

Ok, let me see if I get this straight from other stuff I have read, because I think I do.
No, your child does not have to sign anything. Also, They will not have to use the finger scan, that is only for adults or so I have heard. If you buy your tickets from The Disney Store you will have to add the hopper portion on to it when you get there at your resort so keep that in mind. Also i think the first time you use your tickets it will read you finger and then it registers.

We just bought these at our Disney store tonight!!

We didn't have to sign anything. We had the option of buying any of the available tickets (we got the ones with the hopper option) and they were the exact price as they would have been had we bought them online at Disney.com

They gave us a master receipt with all the code numbers in case the passes don't swipe right at the park. Everything was put into a special envelope for safe keeping. Also, on the register receipt, there is a 1-800 number for trip planning.

I keep seeing people say you can only buy the basic ticket, but every Disney store I have been to, has all four types ( basic, hopper, plus & hopper plus). Didn't ask about adding the no expiration, but they probably have the capability to add that, too.

Padme,
Thanks so much for posting! I called our Disney Store and asked them on Jan 2nd and was told they would only be selling the basic ticket. They said I would have to add the hopper at my resort so I then called POFQ and they confirmed this saying we could do it at check in. So if you bought them that is great and hopefully when I go next week to get ours I can do that too! Now if I do decide to add the hopper when we get there (just in case my DS doesnt know what they are doing!) it is still the same $35 right?

The signs at WDW last week indicated that only those over 10 will have to be finger scanned.

Hi Carrie

We originally tried to buy these on the 2nd or 3rd and the computers were down and having problems. They admitted they didn't really know much about the new tickets yet- it was confusing to them and they had a large manual to read through. Maybe only some stores are carrying all the tickets or maybe the staff just didn't know what was up with them.
I was told if we changed our minds and wanted to add the water parks or no expiration, we could do that when we get there. So that definately is an option and maybe at some stores, it's easier to just carry the basic tickets and let guests add on later. Maybe all stores don't have the same computer capabilities?
The new tickets are in the same display as the old park hoppers at our stores and all four types are there. The ones with the hopper only are a green/blueish color and have Minnie on them. You can buy them for 3 to 7 days.
The prices were exactly the same as on the website- to the penny. I would assume it would be the same if you have to add on later, since you did pre-buy them.

Hope you have a great trip and good luck buying your passes!!

Thanks Padme! I think I will just buy the 7 day tix with hopper option now that i know they have it, otherwse if they don't i will just get the basic and add on when we get there! Thanks so much!! You have a great trip too!
