Do I need to bring one or are there big signs telling you the mile number and time?
Anyone else bringing one? I would have to go get a battery today and it would be another thing to wear or bring along on the race. Trying to determine if it's not worth it to bring. I've always used the treadmill so I haven't used it.
Do I just hit the stopwatch when I cross the finish to see if I'm keeping pace or do you stop it at each mile marker?

I'm going to rely on my watch. It's my understanding that they do have a big sign with the time at every mile marker - someone please correct me if I'm wrong. You can check your time at the start and then just keep adding 16 to it. I'll be relying on my watch - trying to hit another mile marker every 15 minutes. I think you'll be just fine.
