?? about showing up with less people than on reservation.....

So will Disney charge you the 10 bucks if you make a ressie for 4 and only 3 show up??? Are we to cancel our reservation and try to get another one with less people? I made our ADR's for a June trip and I added our daughter to the room and adr's but she might not end up making the trip. I don't want to cause a board war. Is this frowned upon?

We did this once the last trip. My mom wasn't feeling well and skipped a breakfast. We had reservations for 10, showed with nine and explained, understanding that we might have to pay. They said it was no big deal.

We have just returned from an early February trip. Our party size varied day to day from 4 to 6 to 7 to 9. Every day there was probably at least one meal where someone or some two didn't join us. We never had an issue and never got charged. I think the issue comes into play more depending on how busy it is and how many in your party aren't there. We were always prepared to be charged, because we know the policy, and we were happy to find out we weren't.

They only charge if it's a complete no-show. If at least one shows up they won't charge.

Yeah I don't mind being charged but I also don't want to cause others from getting their adr by overbooking.

No you will not get chrged as long as at least one person shows up.

Nope...you won't be charges if at least someone shows up. If you can get a different ADR for less people then go ahead and do it but otherwise don't worry about it.

Yup. I've been the only one to show up for a reservation for 7. Didn't get charged.

Until they fix the system at 'Ohana (and maybe others) that will always come up unavailable for 1 person - and sometimes any odd number - it would be unfair to charge for less than booked for showing up as if you are in an odd numbered party you have to add a hitchhiking ghost to your reservation.
