? about security ink tag

Ok, this is a really strange question. I had all my purchases mailed back to my house on my last trip. When they arrived, 2 of the bags I had purchased still had the ink tab security tags on them. I didn't dare remove them because I know from working retail what a mess they are. I knew I'd be returning to disney but thought I'd be driving. I have the receipts for them but my question is...
1) Will it be a problem to take through airport security?
2) I can't remember the store I got them from. Does it matter which store I take them back to? I think it was either the World of Disney at DD or the big store in Epcot.

Depending on the type of tag, you can just take them and the receipts to any Disney Store and they'll take them off for you.

I would imagine you can take them to any store. If you just explain what happened and show proof of purchase and perhaps proof that they had been shipped, any nice clerk would remove them for you.

My brother had this happen, and he tried to take them to a disney store but was told the tags were different. I had a trip planned for the next month.He is in Arizona and I am in Michigan, so he mailed the shirt and bill to me, I took then to the store in epcot where they removed the tags no problem. THen, mom and dad came to visit me from Arizona, and they took the shirt back with them to my brother.

I would contact the store at Disney you purchased them from. Since it's their mistake they should pay to have you ship them back to them so they can remove the tags and then reship them to you. It's worth a try.

Haven't tried it but I was told that freezing the tag will allow it to be broken, the solid ink in fragments dumped out, and no mess.

I don't like the idea of mailing the merchandise away since the merchandise could get lost, stolen, or damaged or the ink tag could get damaged... . As well as being time consuming.

if i were in your situation, i would go with bdcp's suggestion. this was obviously an error on Disney's part. You shouldn't be expected to try and remove the tags yourself by any means as doing so could damage the merchandise.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure if you call merchandising and explain the situation they will send you new items and get you to send the "tagged" ones back.

I see you're going back to Disney in 6 days so I would just take it with you and have them take it off at one of the giftshops - I'm pretty sure they'll do it at any gift shop as long as you have the receipt and maybe even the receipt showing that it was shipped.

Our Disney Store does not have the machine to take of the dye type of security tags. We have people come in once in awhile to have them taken off and there is nothing we can do. I would do as others have suggested and just call merchandising, my guess is they will send you out new stuff.
