? about printing digital photos

I was reading another thread about which service people use and about the quality of the prints. Specifically the color they come back...so I guess I am confused because I edit my photos at home (photo fix, color, brightness, re-sizing, etc...). I was thinking about using a service just to print my photos like snapfish but I thought my photos would come back to me the way I sent them. Can someone please help me understand this?

As of right now, I just print at home when I need a print, but with our vacation coming up and wanting to start scrapbooking, I don't want to print at home if I have a lot to print.

I've used Snapfish several times and like the quality of their pictures. They are very quick in sending them too.
