? about pre-ordered groceries....

Hi all! We leave next Wednesday evening for OKW! We will not be landing until 9p.m., assuming the plane is on time. By the time we get the rental van and make it to OKW it will be LATE. Normally, going to Publix is one of the highlights of my WDW trip. We used to live in Florida and I miss it. Anyway, we decided this time to pay the $$$ and order groceries to be in our room. My question, if anyone has done this before, is do they actually go put the things in your room or do they keep them in a central location and give them to YOU to put away? Not that it really matters, just wondering. I plan to call OKW and tell them we will be getting there late, so I guess I could just ask them. Anyone ever used this service before? Was the convenience worth it? I just couldn't see the 6 of use shuffling around a grocery store that late at night trying to make decisions.....Lacee

I cannot answer your question (never done that!), but I have a comment.

We are also from FL and really miss Publix. When we visit WDW, we always get our groceries at our favorite grocery store.

I also miss them helping me to the car with the groceries. For some reason, none of the stores where we live offer that great service.

We've done this once or twice before. They put the groceries in the refigerator and freezer for you. I think they put the rest on the counter, but I can't remember. I think it's a great thing if you aren't able to shop yourself.

I am thinking about this for us also. My question is do you have to be in the room to recieve the grocery order, or will the resort just let them in with the order? We usually arrive aroung 1 or 2 pm and then go right into a park. Will it make any difference if our room is ready when we arrive or if it not ready to 4 pm and we are not back yet? I just don't want to have to leave a park to come back to wait for the food.

Moo, shopping at Publix really IS a pleasure isn't it! Mickeymom, thanks for the info. This is such a quicky trip for us we really just don't want to take the time to go to the store. NMW, good question. Maybe someone else has had an experience like this. Anyone???
