Just a quick question. I'm considering staying at ASMu in December and I know that the Pop Warner(so?) kids will be there. Do they crowd the busses at the end of the night or do they take their own group busses to and from the parks? Not sure if this question belongs on this board, but thought I'd give it a whirl.

Thanks!

Hi Mrmousefan

we were in all star music last Dec.
The cheerleeders took over the busses, the food court and the pool. they didnt give up seats on the bus even to older people who really needed them and one went in the queue ( for food or buses) and when they got to the front another 10 joined them.

As you may be able to tell we had real problems with the cheerleaders and thier chaperonnes did not seem to be bothered they seemed to let them go off on thier own.

you may be lucky though because I have read that they will not be there until Jan.

hope you have a lovely time.

Thanks for the advice, CB. Sounds like they were quite a problem. Then again, cheerleaders en masse are always obnoxious..LOL. Hopefully what you read is true about them not being there until January. Thanks!!

Are they worse than those Brazilian tour groups?

I think so. We stayed at ASSp in 1996 and knew nothing about the Pop Warner brats. It was horrible. The pool was closed 3 or more times due to the rowdiness. The foodcourt was packed. Sitting at the bar was no fun due to the pervasive mentality of win win win parents.

The only good thing was that on the next trpi I was able to get DW to BWI and then BVC.

I was just wondering if there are resorts that absolutely do not host large tour or events groups? Or, I wonder, at least, which resorts are least likely to see them?

I'm assuming the higher-end Deluxes will see few to none...correct?

I feel I have to speak up here. I am the mom of a Pop Warner cheerleader. And just like everyone else out there, you can't judge all in the group by the actions of some. I certainly do not condone the actions of the children that have been specifically mentioned. But I do take offense when you call all of them brats and say that the parents don't care about this behavior. Pop Warner's official name is PopWarner Little Scholars and they emphasize academics as well as sportsmanship. I would NEVER let my child or any around me act that way.

Secondly, Pop Warner can be in any hotel that week. More than likely you will find most in the value resorts, some in the moderates and a few in the deluxe. If you want to avoid them (and I can't say I blame you), go for a moderate or deluxe or choose the following week to go to WDW.:smooth:

Hello,

I have a couple of questions for you about Pop Warner:

1) Your best guestimate how many POP WARNERS will be there?

2) What is the age range of the kids that participate in Pop Warner?

I just had a terrible experience with a marching band at Disney's Vero Beach resort last October and just don't want to re-live the nightmare!

We are booked the 5th -14th and am considering changing the dates if and DVC have occupancy for the following week

Thanks
T

BUMP, can anyone answer my questions?

1) best guestimate how many pop warners are there gonna be there this year?

2) what is the age range of pop warners?

Sorry I'm just not familiar with it.

I grew up in Oklahoma where we had organized football beggining at the age of 5! 99% school affiliated.

Thanks

I don't know how many attend the finals, but the age range is 5 to 16.

I've gone the first or second week of December the past 5 years, usually during the pop warner time and never had a problem with it. We would see small groups around the parks, but nothing that affected our enjoyment. I think they spend their days at WWoS. We stayed at BWV the past 3 years and I didn't see any around the resort.

Mr. mouse fan,
Glad to hear you won't arrive until the 14th. Last year my husband and i stayed at a moderate during the week the pop warners were there and sorry sharoncity they were very noisy
especially on the boats to dd and the buses, and the adults with them did not seem to care at all. :(
