I booked my Poly Garden View Concierge room and received the AAA rate. When I received my confirmation letter, it just says "Garden View", nothing about concierge. When I booked, the CM gave me the phone number to call for Concierge itinerary planning and told me about concierge check-in and the rate calculates to the rack rate for GV Concierge less the AAA discount, so I'm confident we were booked into concierge.

However, being a worrier, I called back to the CRO to re-confirm. The CM I spoke to at first said that we were just booked into GV, not concierge, but once she looked deeper, she confirmed we were in concierge and agreed to send us a new confirmation letter. We received the new confirmation letter but it just states "Garden View" as well. So, after a long time getting there, my question is, should my confirmation letter say "concierge" somewhere? What have others received?

Thanks!
Greg

We've stayed many times at Poly concierge with the same situation.

Ressie always stated "garden view" or "lagoon view".
And I've always called to make sure that it was concierge, just like you did!

Funny thing....when we've stayed at other resorts' concierge,
the ressie I believe stated "concierge".

Go figure.

Greg,

I would continue to question it. I would also ask that they send another new letter. I just got back from the Polynesian and stayed concierge - our letters all said concierge on them.

I would really push it though because our sheets were missing our package information. I kept calling back and kept on getting told that we had the package. To make the story short - we did not have the package. Disney did fix it for us and things turned out beautiful but it almost cost us an unexpected $600 at the last minute.

Keep calling and asking for new letters until it is on there. If you don't get that, start keeping track of when you called, who you spoke with, and exactly what they told you your reservation said. I did this and it is what helped us get things corrected.

Good Luck!
Jen

maybe it has to do with WDTC.
We've always booked "room only", either AP or AAA.

Maybe a package concierge is stated differently?

But, you should just follow up and continue to check to make sure.:)

When it comes to WDTC and CR.....go figure!:yo-yo:

The same thing happened with my GF RPC concierge confirmation letter, so, I too called. She said we were in main building concierge, but she sent me another confirmation letter.

On the back it does say to state at check-in that we are concierge guests. But on my reservation letter it does not state RPC deluxe concierge room anywhere!

Just my new experience!

My ressie was for Room Only, I wonder if that's the difference. I'll have to get my confirmations from home and call tomorrow from the office. (I booked back in October and have been keeping this a secret from the family, they think we're staying at the Holiday Inn Family Suites--I can't believe I've kept it quiet this long, someone on here said I'd spill my guts around the holidays, but I haven't so far!) :teeth:

Both of our Polynesian Concierge Lagoon reservation confirmations said only "lagoon" - even our GF RPC Deluxe Concierge says "garden/water" ~ don't worry about it!

Gosh! you're GOOD!

:bounce:

DH still thinks we're staying just "garden view"!
Couldn't keep the Poly part to myself!
And i'm about to BURST about the concierge addition!
LOL!

:hyper:

We've stayed concierge at most of the deluxes with Polynesian being our favorite and most frequent choice--never has our confirmation letter included "concierge" in the room description--just garden or lagoon view. I believe the indication is in the letters/numbers that appear in that same area of the res., i.e., room type, etc. BTW, we have booked room only and MKC/DC in the old days.

You've called and confirmed, I wouldn't worry. If you want further affirmation, simply e-mail the Polynesian Island Planning office to make your initial contact--include your res #, dates, etc. and they will know if you are "in the system" as a guest and can verify it. It's nice to introduce yourself and maintain your contact with them as your needs arise, too.

Yes, ours just had it in letters or numbers or something like that, can't recall. It wasn't obvious.
