my DD and i will be leaving on the 12th for WDW. its out first mom and daughter trip, and its her 8th birthday!
I have gotten her around 50 trading pins to trade while at WDW (her brother and sister have both done this when they went on their "alone with mom" trip. and she wanted to. Howver this is the first time we will be flying to get to WDW. before we lived in florida.
My question is what do you guys do with your pins while flying? Do you pack them in checked luggage? and if so do they get broke? or do you take them in carryon, and is that a nono with security?
thanks a bunch.

ps. off topic..does anyone know how to get the new smilies? everytime i click on more smilies, i get nothing.. they sure are cute!

Hi tinkandhook,

We have done both (checked and carry on) and not had a problem at all. They are a-ok with security (although if wearing them, you will need to take them off and put them through the x-ray machine).

Best of luck on your trip. Happy trading!

OK...maybe I'm a little goofy, but I loved wearing my pins everywhere, even at the aiport to make me feel like I am at the parks.
I love to show off my pins. (or maybe just look like a Disney geek)
I did have to take my lanyard off (clunky clunk) and place it in a bin to go through security.
I saw another person wearing pins while waiting for the plane and we actually had a chit chat about our collection and shared pin trading tips.

HAVE FUN!!!!

We've done both and had no problems. I prefer to keep them in my carry on bag because:

I don't have to worry about theft

We can bring a bunch - they get heavy and can tip the scales just enough that the airline may ask you to pay extra. Two trips ago, the pins and our smashed pennies were the difference between being within the weight limit and being charged $50!

If we are arriving early, DD has her pins to trade with if we go to a park before our room is ready

DON"T pack anything of value in your luggage. Take your pins in your carry on. You won't have any problem getting through security with your pins.

thanks all for your comments. I think i will put them in her carryon backpack!

and i will try turning off my pop uo blocker..

Pop Up blocker tip - if that is the problem and yours is like mine, try pushing the control button while you click on the link. That overrides my pop up blocker without having to worry about turning it off/on.
