? about passing islands

I was wondering if anyone knows if we pass any islands on Sunday of the 7 day eastern? The reason is because I need to make a phone call on Sunday, and I wanted to try to use my cell phone. I heard it would be easier to get better reception if you were passing by an island!Thanks for any and all help!!

If you look at the Navigator's on www.castawayclub.com or www.dcltribute.com it lists at the top of each Navigator what islands the ship will pass and what time it will pass them.

According to my Navigator from May 2003 you will be passing the following Islands on Sunday:
Great Abaco 3 miles 4am - 7am
Eleuthera 5 miles 7am - 11am
Cat 12 miles 11:20 am - 12:20 pm
San Salvador 7 miles 2:30pm - 4:30pm

Times are approximate.

Odds are your cell phone won't work while at sea unless you are passing a large island that has it's own cell. Possibly St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, MAYBE somewhere near Nassau, but the smaller bahamas, I would highly doubt it. As of 2 years ago, you couldn't get cell service to the US anywhere in the Caribbean.
If you need to make a call, I'd definitly have a back-up plan.

The lowest cost backup would be the internet cafe to e-mail or instant message. Otherwise you're looking at the $8 (maybe it's $26) per minute charge for ship to shore phone call
