We have an Emerald Club card but it is in my husband's name. I've been playing around with contract id's and coupon codes and they seem to be a little cheaper when I enter them logged in as an emerald club member rather than a non member. My husband won't be travelling with us this time so my question is can I still book with the Emerald Club even though it's in his name? Has anyone done this before?

No, unfortunately you cannot. The card holder must be present.

Why not just sign up for your own EC membership? I have my own and my husband has his own. You'll instantly get your number when you sign up online and you can start using it right away!

Is National EC membership free? I thought it had a cost.

There is usually a cost associated. Mary at mousesavers.com has some hints to getting a free memebership at this link. Disney club members used to get free memberships, but since I haven't been a DC member in quite some time I don't know if that's still true.
