Do they have the "Nassau Night" aboard the Wonder if you don't stop at Freeport but spend the day at sea instead?

Thanks in advance!

If you're referring to the Monday night deck party while docked in Nassau, then the answer is yes.... We were on the Wonder for a 4 day that did not include the Freeport stop and the party started while we were still in port and continued until after we left port. If your cabin is anywhere near the middle of the ship on deck 8, don't plan on going to bed until after it's over (midnight I think). It was very loud.

I appreciate the warning but I'm in 8532, right in the middle! Guess I'll sleep on the plane back home!!

Thanks

MommaluvsDis....

We were in 8048.... looking at the deck plan, you are almost under the stage where everything happens, so I would expect it to be pretty loud. We went to the party for a while, but DS8 was getting tired so we went back to the room.

At least you'll have the day at sea to rest up. :D

Enjoy.....

I'd have to check the Navigator to be 100% sure, but I think it started at 10:00pm. We pulled out of the port around 11:30 or so. We were delayed leaving port due to a medical emergency where the person, and their family, left the ship around 11:00.

We never found out what happened, so I hope everything worked out for them.

Are there any "perks" I can look forward to by being in a Cat 3? Also, is there going to be enough room for 4 adults and a 16 yo DS?

was SO loud and obnoxious in our room it was awful! I swore I would NEVER EVER book another cruise with Disney if my room had to be on deck 8! We were in 8550 in a family suite and it was awful! It was bad at anytime but especially that night! I thought it was fun for awhile but I didnt think it was necessary to go until after midnight! Thankfully we took our travel sound machine so we just cranked it up when we got back to the room and the kids were pretty wiped out so it didnt take them long to go to sleep but the running above your head, the LOUD band songs, the cm's shouting on a microphone...after about 20 min it got SO annoying!
I know this is where they have the category 1,2 and 3 suites but I think it stinks and I would be very irritated if I had a cabin that cost that much money (Unless I had kids old enough to enjoy the whole evening and go to the party) and had to listen to chairs scrape against the floor, kids running and jumping and that party. I also didnt like having the balcony since you could hear everyone and everything that was going on on deck 9! I dont know but for me it was irritating and something I wont ever consider doing again. I will go on lower decks and get connecting rooms but never ever will I sail on deck 8 again on Disney!

I can really understand how aggrivating it was for you with small children. But, our youngest is 16 and I really don't expect to see much of him! Hopefully, with it just being 4 nights, it won't drive me  !

The Cat 3 rooms are very nice, but with 4 adults and a 16 year old (basically 5 adult sized people), it may get a little cramped. We used the sofa bed for our DS8 and it was more than big enough for him, but 2 adults may be a little crowded. The Murphy bed in our cabin was in the bedroom, next to the door to the balcony, so with it made up and the sofa bed made up, we would have had to climb over one of them to get to the balcony. Not sure where it is located in 8532.

As for noise..... that was our only complaint during the entire cruise. The noise during the night as people walked on deck 9 and especailly the crew getting ready for the day (dragging tables and chairs VERY early in the morning - 4:00am), made for a less than pleasant experience. We complained to the concierge staff and Guest Services, which helped some, but the crew was still noisey in the early morning. I really wish they had designed the ship to not have cabins directly under noisey areas. We have a Cat 4 cabin, under the hair salon, booked for our 4/04 cruise.... hopefully that will be a much quieter location.

As for the perks of a Cat 3.... the concierge staff was very helpful. They were available to make ressies at the spa, Palo's, etc. They had "goodies" sent to our room every day (cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, etc.). As I said above, the cabin was very nice, and the balcony was large. You can order room service dinner from any of the menus (except Palo's) and room service full breakfast, not just continental. There are many threads here on the board that talk about the perks.

All in all..... we would probably not spend the extra for a Cat 3 or higher again. The noise would be a BIG reason. If we couldn't have reserved the Cat 4 under the hair salon for our next trip, we would have gone with a Cat 5 on deck 7 to get some peace and quiet.
