TIA!! I have an AP I will be using but as a spouse I am eligible to get the special discounted tickets. My husband is not going on our trip in June. My older son is and he too has an AP. Can I get tickets for his friend that might go with us? Or do I have to also use one of the discounted tickets in order for him to use two of them?

You can get one for your son's friend. Typically the military member or spouse has to purchase and use one of the tickets, but they make an exception for AP holders. They are limited to 5 tickets per year, instead of the usual 6.

You can purchase them ahead of time at a base ITT office, and activate it at the gate by showing military ID. Or you can get it from Shades of Green, either ahead of time in person or shipped to you, or at the time of your visit. You can even purchase them at the gates, but you will have to pay tax in that case. It's always best to purchase in advance so the ticket can be linked to MDE to book FP.

What the PP said. However, as someone who has purchased military tickets both ways it is SO worth the $10 shipping fee to order the directly from SOG. Especially since y'all have AP's, with the activated ticket from SOG you can just link it to the magic band and be good to go and won't have to stop to have the voucher exchanged for a ticket.

I also use my Star card to buy them from SOG so that I earn rewards points and get the $20 gift cards I then use to buy Alex and Ani bracelets. Lol

Thanks. Yes now that I remember we have used them before and I think we too had AP's. but it has been at least 5 years. I just noticed on the SOG website that it says the military member or spouse is supposed to also have one. I hope we don't get to Disney to activate and they ask me if I am activating one too.

We went two weeks ago and my friend had a regular ticket for himself and exchanged 5 vouchers at the gate for his family. Him and I didn't use the voucher ourselves since we were staying for 8 days. They didn't question the fact that he wasn't activating one of the tickets for himself. I know this isn't the policy, and maybe it was a one-off situation, but if you have a backup plan you could give it a shot. We would have had a major problem if they enforced it... didn't learn about it until I was doing some reading on Disney's website afterwards.

How do you buy the passes ahead of time? Do I need to contact SOG by phone? Just thinking buying ahead of time may save us some time since we will be doing both Universal and Disney. Thanks!

My husband and I have APs. We were able to buy salute tickets for family members traveling with us just last month. We are staying at SOG, so we didn't have to have them shipped. There is also a promotional ticket for Universal. All the information is on SOGs website or you can call them.

Thanks!! I will be getting mine at our local base. I can add them to my MDE when I get them so we can get the fast passes at 60 days since we are staying at POFQ.

I believe they send you a form to fax in or mail in. IT might even be on their website.

On the website, fill out the ticket information form under the Attraction Ticket tab. You fill it out and email it back with a copy of your ID card. They email that it was received and then call you to take your payment over the phone. The Fed Ex envelope requires a signature. Last year, we ordered both our Disney and Universal tickets through them so we didn't have to go to the office on base at all.

If you have a reservation to stay there, they should send you an email about 60 days from your arrival and ask if you want to purchase tickets in advance, and they enclose the order forms and instructions. Once you fill out the forms and email it back, you should get a call on your contact number by a rep from their ticket office to make sure they have your order correct. Once you confirm that what you wrote on the form is indeed what you want (people can make mistakes when filling out the forms, or the rep may be able to suggest a better/cheaper option), they will then run the order and will scan the tickets and email back to you. With this you can load the ticket numbers into your MDE and make your FP reservations at the 30-day-prior point. When you check in, you will then get the actual physical tickets.
