In an effort to try and get to know all of you I figured I'd post a little info about myself.

I'm 32 year old mom to a DD(6) and DS(2). I've been married for 8 years to my incredible DH who is 34 years old.

Love palm trees and warm weather but decided not to move to Florida. After 4 trips down just to explore the area, we decided that the trade off of beautiful weather and Mickey close by didn't really compare to being close to my family, with whom I'm very close. So, we decided that instead we'll just have to take extra trips to Disney, ahh the price we pay...lol

We're closing on the sale of our home this week(fingers, toes and eyes all crossed). But I'm also very sad at the same time because I do love it here...the memories.....height charts on the wall etc.....

I use to be painfully shy but if you met me now you wouldn't believe me, no one does. I use to hide under the table, as a child, when company came over-lol. Now I'm very outgoing, I love to talk to people I don't know, I'm a bit of a goof and love to make people laugh. Oh and I hardly, if ever, get embarrassed. I love to read, watch movies and stay up late at night and read the Dis boards too.

Well, I guess that's enough about me. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better! I'm off to bed, see you tomorrow!

I'm going to be 59 in a couple weeks, DW, Marie, Lady M here on the DIS, and I have been married 31+ years, two children, Natalie, 22, and Vince, 25. I used to post a lot of pictures here, if you do a search (when it is working, best time is early AM, like now, or late, like your post) using the word 'picture' and my name, you will find many.

Good morning. Welcome to the DIS. My name is Laurie. I am 41, have been married for 10 years and have two dd's. Oldest will be 8 in October and the youngest is 5 1/2 and will be starting kindergarten this fall. I work full time, but am lucky enough to have been with a company 16 years (almost a record these days) and I have a ton of vacation time, so that allows me to spend alot of time with my kids.

I have loved Disney since I was a little girl. My mom lived in California and would take me to DL. DH and I went to WDW for our honeymoon and have taken the kids back twice. No trips planned right now, but hopefully we will get back there in two years. I found the DIS when we went on our last trip. Now, the community board is the main place I "hang out." Hope you enjoy hanging out here too.

I live outside of St. Louis. If you ever get the chance to come through this area, let me know and I will tell you all the "hot spots."

My name is Amy, I'm 18 years old, and I'm from Long Island, New York. I will be attending Northeastern University in Boston this fall. I'm EXTREMELY excited. I will be studying art in hopes to do something Disney Imagineer related, I just want to narrow the whole "art" thing down a bit!

I love Disney (obviously if I want to work for them), and I just can't get enough of a WDW vacation! My family picked Atlantis over Disney for a vacation in August (it was a tough decision though), and I think I'm the only one who is a little upset!!! Oh well, I love Atlantis, so either way I couldn't go wrong!

Cute idea for a thread. Nice learning about you, thanks for asking to learn a bit about me.

My name is Chris and I've lived in NJ my whole life. We're going to moving to the Pocono Mountains in PA in late August, we're also going to build a house there but it hasn't been started yet.

We sound a lot alike. Im a 31 yo SAHM of 2 DSs 3 & 6, and Ive been married for 8 years(in a few weeks). I too would move to Orlando in a heartbeat if I werent so close to my family. We currently live 1/2 mile from my parents, and just on the other side of town from my sister and her family.

Good luck on the sale of your home and in building the new one. It will be worth it.

Hi Camcolt! Wow we do sound a lot alike! We'll be married 8 years on August 19th, in a way I can't believe it's been that long and in another I'm like that's it?

Right now my sister lives just down the street from me and my parents(where I grew up) are just about a mile away! Where we're building in PA is just about a mile away from where my parents are going to retire.

Hi all. I am a 41 y/o mom to DD's-10 and 3- and married 11 years to my wonderful DH. I am currently a disgruntled accountant but hopefully that will change soon....
I had wanted to visit WDW for as long as I can remember so in 2001 I announced to DH that I didn't care how much money we had to borrow we were going to WDW in 2002. Fortunately we didn't have to borrow any money until after our visit(went in June, bought DVC in July )DH is a police officer so he worked a ton of off-duty jobs to pay for the trip.
We still occasionally entertain thoughts of moving closer to the magic but both of our families are here in the DFW metroplex. Maybe when we retire.....
I found this site after our trip last year when I was looking for a way to get over the post-Disney trip blues and I have been addicted ever since. I usually hang out on the trip planning boards but have been lurking over here a lot more lately

I've been going to Disney since August of 1972, every year since. Now DD and DS are following close

I currently live in charlottesville, VA right down the street from my best friend and have one sister across town. The rest of the clan lives in Florida which makes visiting family extra nice!!

My name's Jon, I'm a 20 year old guy who is currently engaged to my lovely GF Tanya. We've been together fo 2 1/2 years now.

We live 2 hours south of the magic in Okeechobee, Florida.

I've been going to Disney since '98 & Tanya has been going since birth! (lucky her eh?)

I used to live in New Orleans, Louisiana in the French Quarter. I was going to the University of New Orleans (UNO) for computer science when I met Tanya there. We both decided to pack up & move to Florida (although sometimes I regret it!) and we're both full time students as well as pet owners, & the like!

I'm Yvonne, will turn 46 on August 5th. Married almost 28 years (September 27) to a farmer (corn, soy beans, wheat) and crop insurance adjuster. I'm a part-time waitress in a great family-oriented restaurant, formerly a secretary. We have a 27 year old son who has a daughter that will be 10 a day before my birthday, and has a 7 year old son. Our daughter is 24 and has been married 3 years but no children yet. Our son and his family live right next door to us, and our daughter and her husband live a quarter mile down the road. We love the closeness, it's great!!

Love Disneyworld and wish we could go more often, maybe when we retire in another 10 years or so we'll be able to. Love to take Disney cruises too. These boards are wonderful. I found them just before our first cruise, didn't really think I'd be on them much after the cruise was over, but I'm here almost daily.
Love to read, walk, camp, travel, watch movies, the SIMS, surf the 'net, and do things with my family.

My name is Cathy and I have been married to Jim (Finance guy in the automotive industry) for 23 years (in 19 days)! We have 2 great kids, Meg is 18 and starting University to study Business in the fall (the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree) and Patrick who just finished his first year of High School. Patrick is deaf and we communicate using Sign Language. We have a furbaby, Lola, who is an 11 months old Havanese (picture Bichon Frise without the afro).

I'm a SAHM and have been for 7 years. I do work as a Travel Consultant, and am now President, of Dreams Unlimited Travel but I work from my home so my hours are flexible (and LONG!).

My name is Jenny, I'm 22 and have been married to my husband Keith, also 22, for almost 2 years. We've been together for 6 (high school sweethearts!) We have a daughter Trinity (hence the screen name) who is almost a year old. DH is in the Navy so we don't get to see each other often, but love knows no distance He's currently stationed in Florida (3 hours from WDW, lucky him). I live in Chicago and go to school at Loyola University where I am studying Psychology and will be going into nursing in the Spring.

Thats funny! We originally picked 8/19 to get married but that was the only day of the entire summer the hall we wanted was booked for, so we moved it up a month to 7/22.

How fun to read about everyone!

My name is Leslie and I'm married to an accountant (he's a lot funnier than he sounds!). We've been married 11 years and dated on and off (a whole 'nother Oprah!) for nine years before that. We live in a pretty little coastal town, about a mile from the beach (nice and rocky!).

I used to work for Verizon, but quit about five years ago and now walk down the street to work at an elementary school, as a special ed. aide. I am a cancer survivor who counts her blessings every day!

DD is 10 and DS is 8. I am the WDW freak in our house, although they all have fun when we go. I am an obsessive planner!
