My 11 year old wants my sister to pick him up a Magical Moments Pin when she goes to WDW in November, but I thought it only lights up in reaction to some rides/attractions. Am I wrong, and is there someway to make it blink otherwise? Also, how much are they, and are there different pins for each park? Thanks in advance.

There are 5 different ones, one for each park and a "100 Years of Magic" pin. They will work away from the park, you just need to tap the front of the pin and the lights start blinking. I don't know if others have had a similar experience, but ours really seems to use up batteries quickly. They are really nice looking, I think, but they are really big and bulky for wearing.

Yes if you touch them in a certain spot they will also light up...

Yes, the interactive Magical Moments pins are a lot of fun at the parks. I can attest to the fact that the batteries do not last long, and should be removed when not in use. The pins are especially active during and after Fantasmic!
I have heard a rumor, but not had a chance to check it out, that a vacuum cleaner motor will activate the light-up pins. We'll have to remember to check out that theory when we get home!
