I didn't want to hijack another thread so I started this one.
We are headed into the city tomorrow to celebrate DD 17th bday. We are going to John's Pizzeria (Times Sq. location). I couldn't find anywhere on
the website whether or not they take reservations, does anyone know? Also we were planning on getting there around 2-2:30 for a late lunch - early dinner - there will be 6 of us. Are the chances of getting a table pretty good at that time?

Thanks!

You won't need reservations at that time. Enjoy!!!! I know they do reservations for large groups (I have reserved for 12+). At 2-2:30 on a Sat, you should be totally fine.

Excellent!!! Thank you!!! We are really excited to check it out. We were supposed to go there around Christmas time, but decided on a different place to eat instead and it was a mistake. Can't wait!

if you can, sit in the main room (it used to be a church) so you can look up at the beautiful ceiling (in other words, don't sit across from the bar in the front room). You'll definitely enjoy it!!

I've heard nothing but good things. Thanks for the tip on seating!

Have fun! Happy birthday do DD. We could see each other and not even know it, lol!

I'd shoot to arrive on the later side of your time period. Since you'll be there on a Sat, all the matinees start at 2 and there still might be some residual crowds from that. We went there on Dec 30th and we left around 1:45 for our show and it was still MOBBED!!!! 45+ min waits for a table. This was the 2nd time we've eaten here and the food quality has definitely dropped off in the last couple of years. Personally it stinks now.... I think you can get better pizza from the hole in the wall pizza places up the street!

ditto.
We got seated in that room and when I went to the bathroom I was in awe. (The bathroom is in the main room) It was gorgeous!!!

John's is Great!!! Very reasonable for NYC. The salads and Pizza are both great, I haven't tried anything else. We went the week before Christmas and even though there was a line outside, it still moved along and the wait wasn't too bad. It's a big place so, I don't think you will have a problem tomorrow.
Have fun.

We were there on a Saturday in January at the same time - 7 people - and got seated right away.

Well, we went to John's yesterday - got there before 2 and no wait. It was busy but a few tables were open. Got a table right under the stained glass in the big room (right in the middle of the room)! It was beautiful. The service was very good, food great. We left a little after 3 and the place really cleared out, many open tables (theater crowd left). The girls had a great time and we will definately be back! Thanks for everyone's advice.
