I think I know the answer but just curious. I keep seeing Congresswoman Giffords Dr. on the news. I'm assuming her husband gave him the ok to speak about her condition to the public? Is that how that works?

Also, you will notice that several times the surgeon says things like "in these type of injuries we do this and that to test". He was being very clear in some of the press conferences that he was not speaking directly about Rep Giffords condition but more in general of neurological tests he would do in a case like Rep Giffords.
