Hi all,

We are going to be at the World this March and are staying at WL. This is going to be the first time we are going without a car. We have always stopped at a Publix before checking in, but since we are going to be using DME, there will be no way to do it, unless we get a cab or something and we really don't want to put the money out for it. My question is, if we took the ferry from WL over to FW and get some snacks and pop for our room, could this be done? Also, what kind of things do they sell at the outposts? I know that we could probably get the same things at our resort, but we were just thinking that since it is a campground (with the essentials to make dinners) they will have a lot more stuff there. Oh yeah, one last question....we have never visited FW, and we thought this would be a perfect opportunity to see what FW has to offer. What are the must-sees there?

Thanks for the help

Even at the Outpost it is WAAAAAY expensive for any food.

My recommendation would be to contact one of the shopping services and have them deliver some stuff to your room.

www.gardengrocer.com and www.wegoshop.com are two good services. You pay real world grocery prices for the items, plus a reasonable delivery fee!! It takes no time out of your vacation also.

The gift shop at WL probably has at least 2/3 of the stuff the Meadows does anyway. Carol is right though, it will cost you a fortune.

For sure. We always make the trek to a Walmart or Publix! I am not sure if the cost of a taxi would not make the trip to Publix more than if you just got the items at the Fort??

Thank you everyone for your responses. And thanks to the different links especially to BradyBz12, at least it gives me a rough idea on what they do sell. I may look into the garden grocerer idea, never did this before, how easy is it and will the delivery be there when we check in? Thanks again for the help.

I'd agree with everyone about the food prices at the Fort...not the way to go to stock your room with drinks and snacks. We use the trading posts for the occassional item we may need, but that's about it. However, don't let that stop you from hopping on the boat from WL and checking out the Fort. You may want to plan an evening at the campground to check out the campfire program, and to walk around the Settlement area. You also get a pretty good view of the MK fireworks from the beach, and they pipe in the music. For your DD's ages they would love the campfire with Chip and Dale!

Why in the WORLD would anyone wanna stay at WL when the fort is soooo much cooler and quite a bit more inexpensive? Dump the WL ressies and rent a camper from TinaH159..shes a regular on these boards and renting her camper vs staying at the WL will be so much more fun, inexpensive...larger in size than your WL room, AND you wont have to VISIT FW...you'll be right in the middle of all the fun...take the money you save from you WL reservation and rent a golf cart for a few days...its a blast!!! CHeck out what Im talking about...http://www.CampAtTheFort.com

You can also catch a bus over to the Fort from WL. It takes through the woods and over to Grandmothers house, oops, wrong song....It does drop you right at the Settlement and Marina. Then you could catch the Blue Flag boat back to WL.
