:thumbsup2 We're going to be on the Magic for the 10/21-28/06 sailing. I would like to video tape the fireworks. What is the best location where I can sit and have a table because I'm planning on bringing only my "mini" tripod so I would need a table to rest it on, as an alternative maybe even a trash can (not my preference but I'll do it if it means getting a good shot)! Anyone know what location would be my best choice? TIA :cool1:

We were just on the Wonder and I would say deck 10 midship. We were right by the stage and I got fabulous pictures. But if you are filming I would go to deck 10. There are tables and also these large storage structures that you could position your tripod on. Enjoy!

Thank you Hobbitmomma for your reply and what a beautiful picture!! That's what I'm talking about! :thumbsup2

MSR- We will be on the ship with you! It will be our first cruise...we are so excited!

Oh, and starboard side is USUALLY the direction they go.

They went off right above our heads when we stood on deck 10 center, right across from the stage. Also Mickey was right above our heads as well.

Here are a few fireworks photos (and Mickey flying past us) I took from Deck 10, infront of the stack directly across from the goofy pool stage.

Forgot to add there are some chairs/tables up on deck 10, the chairs/tables on deck 9 are under the "roof" of deck 10 so it would be hard to get footage of the fireworks from this location.

Thanks 2Angels for the advice and can I say what beautifuly pics of the fireworks you took. Can I ask what type of camera you used and what setting you used? I just got a Canon A700 Digital that I am taking and was wondering what setting to get pics like yours. TIA :thumbsup2

Great pictures hobbitmomma & 2angelsinheaven! I would agree that deck 10 midship starboard side is the great place to be to view the fireworks. :thumbsup2

I'm worried that our DD (not quite 5 yrs old) won't last to see the fireworks. She hasn't taken a nap since she's been 2, although, I will try and "make" her take one on that day, (could be a lost cause, though, lol).

Just wondering, can you see the fireworks from your verandah? We'll be on deck 8, starboard side. Also, does anyone know what time the fireworks actually start?

Does Mickey still zip fly through onto the stage?

I read this had stopped, the show lacked a story, and it was now just a disco, with VERY loud music...... PLEASE say this isnt so.

Hobbitmomma and 2angelsinheaven-
Absolutely beautiful pictures! If you don't mind my asking, what brand camera were those shot with? Any setting tips, etc. for taking fireworks pictures. (I am a bit camera challenged.) Thanks!

As someone who is ADDICTED to the firework shows at DL, I was a little disappointed by the show on DCL. We were on deck 10 midship. Could not hear the staged show with Mickey and Capt. Hook, and the stacks blocked my view of some of the fireworks. I did enjoy pirate night :thumbsup2 I just had higher expectations of the firework show (it probably did not help matters that my cruise was over July 4th, so I had fireworks on the brain). :teeth:

I have no idea what the show used to be, but Capt. Hook doing the Safety Dance was a bit over the top for me. Mickey still rode a zip line between the stacks though. My kids got tired and bored rather quickly so we exited right after the fireworks. (Grabbed some desserts from the buffet first! pirate: )

Well, if you have a 35mm SLR (not digital) you'll want to put the camera on a tripod to avoid too much shaking. Then if you have a bulb setting, you open the shutter for a few seconds then close it manually and that's how you get the trails. This was my first time using a digital camera however. It's a casio 10.1 megapixel. There is actually a setting on it for fireworks and clearly it works beautifully. You have to time it right though.

I have a Kodak 6.1 MP Z760. Used the fireworks settings, I will check the data and tell you what that means (shutter speed, ISO, etc) in a few and post it. I did not use a tripod just point and shoot. Although I'm sure I would have gotten better results with a tripod.

I used Fireworks settings, no flash, the ISO was 100, Shutter Speed 2.00 seconds, Aperture f5.6, focal length 39.00mm. HTH
