Even though we have been to WDW several times and I feel like I know a lot I am not sure about this.

We will be bringing my DD's friend with us to WDW. Her mother said that they have unused tickets that she can take with her. If I understand this correctly these must be some kind of park hopper pass and she should be able to use them in the fastpass machines. Does anyone know if there is a way to find this out before we go into a park? I would hate to get into the park and not be able to use the ticket for fastpass. Thanks for any help.

If they have the magnetic strip on them they should work. If you have ANY concerns, however, you may want to check with guest relations. If for some reason they are really, really old and don't have the magnetic strip, I would think guest relations would exchange them.

Speaking of that, if it doesn't have a magnetic strip she wouldn't even be able to get into the park, because you have to put your ticket in the readers at the entrance. If they work at the entrance, I'm going to guess it'll work at the FastPass machine!

Yes park hopper passes work just fine. If they are really really old than have Guest Relations print you new tickets. Problem solved.

Thanks to both of you. This is what I thought, but I just wanted to check. We leave tomorrow for our extended trip.

(copied from another post)

Warning on tickets that don't fit into the turnstiles.

Try not to apply their value towards the purchase of a new ticket or pass. Instead have a new ticket with exactly the same admissions remaining made up for you at the ticket booth at no extra charge, and use it up before buying another ticket. Ask for the old ticket back as a souvenir, they will stamp "void" on it.

Otherwise it will be more expensive for you. An older ticket with say a day or two remaining on it will not buy the same day or two's worth of a new pass due to ticket price increases.

Partially used hopper plus passes more than about five years old never have surviving plus options. They had unlimited plus options during the first seven days from first usage. If you are using up an old ticket and wish to visit water parks, etc. you might want to buy a second ticket before the old ticket is used up but be extremely careful not to use two different tickets on the same day for theme park admittance or hopping.
