?? about fairfield

OT but a friend mentioned they were buying 63,000 fairifield points. Some of the info sounded very confusing. went to TUG advice and couldn't find much.
they are 2 adults, will be happy with a studio, will want to stay in florida or an island mostly.
any advice?

I think they did the right thing if they are not crazy about Disney. We own another T/S in Williamsburg that we trade through RCI. It is on the old "weekly exchange" system, we own a week and trade for a week. The first time I heard about "points" I thought my head would explode. In 2003 we bought into DVC because we like to stay on-site at Disney. We use our other T/S to go all over the place. It works great for us to own both. I now have a pretty good understanding of the DVC system, I'm sure they will understand their's with a little practice. We have stayed in a couple of Fairfields which were very nice. The one in Branson is beautiful (and it is a fun place to vacation too .) Lacee

make sure they are buying through the resale market.

it can save them quite alot of money.

if you are unsure of something - just ask on the tug site. Sometimes the buying/selling board - othertimes the particular state you are interested in - if the question has been answers alot you still want get a good answer - just do a search.

I would also have them check the efairfield.com that shows sample points. If they are planning on traveling every year, 63000 doesn't go very far--not enough for a week except in a few places. Not all resorts have studios. I have also found tug to be useful. There is also a very active yahoo group that I subscribed to when I thought I might be interested in a fairfield resale--it does generate alot of emails.

thanks for the replies. i went to tug and advice but didn't find out much, mostly older info

they plan on using it every other year
