Has anyone here done the "St. John Trunk Bay Beach & Snorkel Tour"? I've read of people liking the "5 Star", but not of this one.
I have also heard good things about the "Champagne Catamaran", but it is a bit too rich for our budget. Any help you guys can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Marilee

I did the St John beach and snorkel and was not impressed at all. THe 5 Star was the one that I went to sign up for, but it was booked. I recommend booking it before hand if you really want to do it.

Buck Island Sail and Snorkel! So does DD12!

It is only six people on this excursion, plus Captain Karl and his sidekick (Tim?) Sorry bad with names!LOL

You get to jump off the boat into the water! You get a personal tour around the reefs there! We saw plenty of fish, fauna, a sea turtle and a stingray! I'm sure there was more but I was enjoying the serenity of snorkeling!

It's a half day excursion and well worth the price of admission! While everybody who booked to Trunk Bay had their excursion rerouted due to rough waters, we got to go ahead!

You won't regret it! We did not!

Scratch..are there vests provided on the boat? This sounds like a great excursion, but my boys would need vests. :)

Mask, Snorkel, Vest, Fins, Drinks and snack!

It's an Awsome Excursion!

None of us wanted to return!

We did Champagne Catamaran and LOVED it (kids and all). We will do it again in April. It is a bit more pricey but keep in mind that it's longer than most excursions. I guess we felt the better, longer was worth more. But...a budget is a budget. I don't think any choice will be bad!

Wow!! Do you think my kids are too young, they'll be 9 and 7 on our trip in May. Thanks for the info!!!

We took our kids on a snorkel excursion in Grand Cayman, they were 4 and 7. The seven year old was frightened when he got in the water, but I told him to put his head under water, it took a little pushing, but he put his head under and kept swimming. He loved it and still talks about it to this day.

The 4 year old didn't want to try it, but was happy enough staying on the boat. We did the excursion on our own and the people were very nice, there was always a few people on the boat so he was fine, and as this was our first cruise I was much more comfortable having him with us, then leaving him on the ship.

Your kids will love it!!!!

The vests keep them afloat, right?? I'm so freaked about the kids in the ocean! They can swim fine in pools but I'm concerned about them panicking in the ocean. The vest will prevent them from going under, right?? And how about adults, they provide vests for the adults, too?

THere's the Barefoot Sail and Snorkel trip on a catamaran that goes over to St. Johns. THis is a good snorkeling trip also. Not as pricey as the Champange trip (not as long either). We recomend this as a very good excursion. THat being said, we'll do the 5 star snorkel excursion to trunk bay later this year (never been there - want to see it)

We did the St. John Trunk Bay Beach & Snorkel Tour on our 2/21 cruise and loved it! We had no complaints! Trunk Bay is beautiful! There were people on the beach who provided the snorkel equipment and give a little lesson to those who didn't know how to snorkle. My kids really liked the underwater snorkel trail. The boat ride to St. John was very pleasant. There were taxis waiting at St. John to take us to Trunk Bay, and the drivers stopped along the way to let us take pictures. In my opinion, the excursion was very well run and enjoyable. I would highly recommend it!

The St. John Trunk Bay excursion was the highlight of our last Disney Cruise. The ride to St. John was bumpy, but a lot of fun. We had a great time snorkling, and then back to St. Thomas for dinner and shopping.

Highly recommended!
